The AVM Rotation R 5.3 MK2 is AVM's belt-drive turntable, built around a 5.5 kg aluminum platter, AVM's Elipso Centric belt drive and a 10-inch gimbal-mounted AVM tonearm. The plinth is a 60 mm HDF composite frame with an aluminum cover, standing on height-adjustable damper feet. Speed changes between 33 and 45 rpm are microprocessor controlled with a look-forward servo, and a dimmable RGB light under the platter can be set to any color or switched off.
The tonearm has an effective length of 254 mm and an effective mass of 16 g. Its counterweight takes cartridges from 5 to 20 g, and a 15 mm overhang adjustment sets the stylus position. The R 5.3 MK2 comes without a cartridge, so you choose the one you want, and it needs a phono stage: AVM's own run from the Evolution PH 3.3 and PH 5.3 to the Ovation PH 8.3. A dust cover is included.
