Shipping Process
We understand that getting your hi-fi gear quickly is important. However, as a small business, some items may not be readily available in our store and may require additional time to be procured from our distributors and manufacturers.
We will contact you directly after your order to provide an estimated shipping or delivery timeframe based on current stock availability. Please note that these estimates may vary due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.
Special Order Products
Some products are special orders. These products will require more time as they ship or are built directly from the manufacturer. These orders require payment upfront prior to the special order process. For example, we are the #1 Magnepan dealer in the World and with that, many order custom trim and fabric options which can take up to 5 weeks for the build and delivery. Another example is some Michell Turntables can take up to 90 days to build prior to shipping from the UK.
Availability & Lead Time Disclaimer
Availability indicators displayed on product pages and in your cart, including but not limited to “In stock,” “Backorder,” “Built to order,” “Available in [X] days,” “Restock inbound,” “Available from [origin country],” and any specific build or shipping window, reflect the most current information we have at the time of viewing. They are informational estimates, not guarantees.
Inventory levels, manufacturer build queues, supplier shipments, customs and freight timelines, and other circumstances outside our control can change without notice. We update our product pages and messaging as quickly as we can, but the status you see at the time of order may shift before your order ships. By placing an order, you acknowledge that all displayed availability and lead-time information is an estimate and is subject to change. We will contact you after your order if anything has changed materially.

Free Shipping Over $100 (Contiguous US)
Most orders over $100 qualify for complimentary ground shipping within the contiguous United States (lower 48 states). The Listening Room reserves the right to select the most efficient shipping method to ensure timely delivery of your order, regardless of the method chosen at checkout.
What’s Included:
- Ground shipping to the shipping address provided during checkout
- Standard delivery via a carrier of our choosing
- Delivery to residential or business addresses within the lower 48 states
What’s NOT Included:
- Redirecting shipments to a different address after the order is placed
- Holding shipments at The Listening Room warehouse for delayed delivery
- Holding packages at carrier locations or alternate pickup points
- Expedited or upgraded shipping (e.g., 2-day or overnight)
- Special delivery requests such as weekend delivery, custom scheduling, or signature on delivery

- Free shipping applies to ground delivery only.
- Some exclusions may apply for oversized or extremely heavy items.
- Scheduling for free delivery will be coordinated after your order is placed.
Orders Over $1,000 (All US Destinations)
Orders totaling $1,000 or more ship free to all US destinations, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and all US territories.
Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico & All US Territories (Orders Under $1,000)
Orders under $1,000 shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and all other US territories are subject to a $29.95 flat-rate shipping fee.
Shipping on Orders Under $100 (Contiguous US)
Orders from $50.01 to $99.99 within the contiguous United States ship for a $9.95 flat rate. Orders of $50 and under ship for $14.95, which includes a $4.95 handling fee. Every order takes the same pick, pack, and labor to prepare and ship regardless of size, and this fee helps offset those fixed costs on smaller orders.
Magnepan Speakers Shipping Rates
Due to the massive size of Magnepans, we charge shipping on most of these products. Please note that we pay part of this shipping to reduce the cost as much as possible. Please note that we will deliver Magnepan speakers within the radius below based on cost (we also provide wiggle room so contact us if you are within 500 miles of Chestertown, MD).
The Magnepan LRS Factory Second speaker requires a $95 flat shipping fee anywhere in the United States.
Heavyweight & Oversized Item Shipping
A small number of products in our catalog require a flat-rate shipping fee due to their size and weight. Carrier costs for oversized or heavy items are driven by dimensions and weight, not by the price of the item, so these products are not eligible for our standard free shipping over $100. When an item is subject to a flat-rate shipping fee, it will be clearly displayed on the product page before checkout.
Flat-rate shipping fees apply to deliveries within the contiguous United States only. For Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or international quotes, please contact us.
Viablue Shipping from Germany
We only ship complete orders; if we don’t have every cable in stock to fulfill your order, we will have it dropshipped from Germany to arrive to you in 7-14 business days. Please note that we cannot guarantee this timeline. International shipping has its challenges, so these orders direct from Germany may take longer.
- Custom Sleeve Color options add an additional 15 business days of delivery time to your order
- We cannot guarantee that all colors will be available
- We will contact you after you choose your color to update you on shipping time
- If you would like more than one color connected to different cables in your cart, please contact us in order to ensure we confirm your required selection.
Free Delivery Radius
We are proud to offer free delivery within a designated radius for qualifying orders. Here's a breakdown:
- Free delivery within 100 miles for orders above $1,000
- Free delivery within 200 miles for orders above $5,000
- Free delivery within 400 miles for orders above $10,000
- Orders above $30,000 qualify for free delivery within the contiguous United States and expert personalized setup by our 3rd-generation owner, Michael Hoatson!

Expedited Shipping

International Shipping

Tracking Information
All orders will receive tracking information via email upon shipment.
Cartridge Exchange Shipping
Cartridge exchange products follow a different shipping pattern than regular orders. Once you purchase a cartridge exchange, you mail your old or damaged cartridge to our Chestertown showroom. Your replacement cartridge ships to you within 5 to 7 business days after we receive yours.
Rega exchanges return your unit as a factory renewed cartridge, rebuilt at Rega's UK factory with original parts. Hana exchanges ship you a brand-new same-model Hana cartridge at 30% off the original retail price, with full manufacturer warranty. In both cases the 5 to 7 day clock starts when your cartridge arrives at our showroom, not when you place the order.
The 5 to 7 day window is an estimate, not a guarantee. Replacement cartridges are sourced from the manufacturer or their distributor and may not always be in stock at the time we receive yours. If a unit is on backorder, your shipment will take longer than 5 to 7 days. We will notify you if your order is delayed and provide an updated estimate.
If you choose Listening Room Packaging at checkout, we will ship the return box to you within 2 business days.

These rates are a constant moving target and while we do our best to keep these consistent and low for all customers, many times we must change our rates.
