Refund policy

At The Listening Room, we strive to ensure your satisfaction with every purchase.

However, as a small, independent business, we generally operate with a final sale policy. This allows us to offer competitive pricing and a curated selection of high-fidelity equipment.  With that in mind, we ask you to please contact Mike with any questions as we do our best to provide the utmost customer service.

Exceptions

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. We will accept returns or exchanges for store credit only in the following situations:

  • Manufacturer Defect: If your item arrives defective or non-functional (Dead on Arrival - DOA), please contact us within 30 days of receipt. We will gladly exchange the unit for a new replacement so you don't have to send your unit in for repair.
  • Our Error: In the rare instance that we ship you an incorrect item, please contact us immediately. We will arrange for the return of the incorrect item and promptly ship the correct one to you.
  • Other Issues: We realize that stuff happens and there may be other issues. Please reach out to Mike via the numbers or e-mails below and he will do his best to make the situation right.

Preorders & High-Value Purchases

Your pre-order is our investment with the manufacturer to reserve that unit for you. We commit dealer funds the moment the order is placed, so changes to a pre-order affect more than just paperwork on our end.

If you do need to cancel or refund a pre-order, please contact us and we will work with you on a case-by-case basis to do our best to support your needs. We will always try to find a path that works for you, whether that is store credit, a swap to a different in-stock item, or a refund where the timing allows.

Free Gift Items

Orders that qualify for a free gift under our promotional incentive program are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange. If you receive a free gift and choose not to keep it, we kindly encourage you to pass it along to a fellow music lover and share the joy of high fidelity.

Return Process

  • To initiate a return or exchange under the conditions outlined above, please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order by emailing support@listenroom.com or calling (410)-239-2020.
  • We will provide you with detailed instructions on how to return the item, including any necessary return labels.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Opened items (except for DOA situations)
  • Items showing signs of use or wear
  • Items without original packaging and manuals

Store Credit

  • If your return is approved, you will receive store credit for the full purchase price of the returned item, excluding any original shipping costs.
  • Store credit is valid for one year from the date of issue and can be used towards any future purchase at The Listening Room.
