Why we Choose Opera Speakers at The Listening Room
A couple of years ago, I set out to find a classic Italian speaker to showcase in the shop. I wasn’t looking for speakers covered in carbon fiber or billet aluminum chasing a hyper-modern sound. I wanted that timeless Italian character—the warm, rich sound of a soft dome tweeter paired with craftsmanship you could feel in every detail. Then it hit me: Pop-pop used to sell Opera Loudspeakers.
Fast forward a few weeks, and Opera was back in the shop. The sound was everything I’d hoped for and more. That rediscovery grew into a passion, leading to a full display of Opera Loudspeakers and their sister brand, Unison Research, proudly featured here at The Listening Room.
Opera and Unison Research are family-run companies led by the Nasta family. I’ve toured their factory multiple times and am always amazed by their dedication to excellence. Their cabinets are crafted by a local furniture maker in a nearby town—absolutely stunning, inside and out. These speakers don’t just sound incredible; they’re works of art.
