This $19,500 system pairs the Magnepan 3.7x planar magnetic speakers with the Primare I35 Prisma integrated amplifier and ViaBlue SC-6 Air speaker cables. It is a carefully matched three-component system built around one idea: put the best possible front end on a full-range planar speaker, keep the signal path short, and let the music do the talking. Every component was hand-selected by Mike for real-world synergy, not spec-sheet bragging rights.

The Magnepan 3.7x: A Speaker That Disappears
The 3.7x is Magnepan's sweet spot in the lineup. It uses a true ribbon tweeter alongside quasi-ribbon midrange and bass panels to produce a soundstage that box speakers simply cannot replicate. Instruments hang in space with natural size and separation. Vocals sit right in the room with you. These are the kind of speakers that make you forget about gear and just listen.

Amplification: Primare I35 Prisma
The I35 Prisma is the amplifier Mike reaches for when customers want a single-box solution that does not compromise. With the DM35 DAC module and SM35 streaming module installed, this is a complete digital front end and amplifier in one chassis. Stream from Roon, Tidal, Spotify Connect, or AirPlay without adding a separate streamer or DAC. The I35 has the current delivery and control to drive the 3.7x panels properly.

Cabling: ViaBlue SC-6 Air
The SC-6 Air is ViaBlue's flagship speaker cable. At this level, the cable needs to get out of the way and let the amplifier and speakers do their job. The SC-6 Air does exactly that with low capacitance, heavy-gauge conductors, and air-insulation geometry that preserves signal integrity over the run. As part of this bundle, the SC-6 cables are included at a reduced price, saving you $748.95.
Optional: Turntable Setup
The I35 does not have a built-in phono stage, so vinyl playback requires both a turntable and an external phono preamp. Mike recommends the Rega Planar 8 with the Nd9 cartridge and the Primare R35 phono preamp. The R35 stays in the Primare family for a clean aesthetic and signal match, and it handles both MM and MC cartridges with precision. Add both to this system and the R35 is half price ($1,099.50 off), bringing the turntable combo to $5,299.50.
Optional: Dual REL T/9x Subwoofers
Magnepan panels produce remarkable bass extension on their own, but a pair of REL T/9x subwoofers adds foundation and weight without muddying the panel's speed. REL's high-level connection integrates seamlessly with planar speakers. Running two subs (one per channel) smooths out room modes and creates a more even bass response across the listening position. Add a pair to this system and save $249 per sub ($498 total).
Optional: Primare DD35 CD Transport
For your disc collection, the Primare DD35 is a natural match. It connects digitally to the I35's built-in DAC module, keeping everything in the Primare ecosystem. Choose the same finish as your I35 (Titanium or Black) for a clean stack. Add the DD35 to this system and save $100.
