The AVM Rotation R 5.3 MK2 is a belt-drive turntable built on AVM's Elipso Centric belt drive and a gimbal-mounted 10-inch AVM tonearm, with a 5.5 kg aluminum platter by AVM's specification. The plinth is a massive 60 mm HDF composite frame with an aluminum cover, and a dimmable RGB platter light can be set to any color. It is sold without a cartridge.

Speed control is microprocessor-based, switching between 33 and 45 rpm.

Key Features of the AVM Rotation R 5.3 MK2

  • Elipso Centric Belt Drive: With look-forward servo control for 33 and 45 rpm.
  • 5.5 kg Aluminum Platter: Paired with specially designed bearing technology for smooth running.
  • 10-Inch Gimbal-Mounted Tonearm: Height-adjustable, 254 mm effective length, 16 g effective mass.
  • 60 mm HDF Composite Frame: A massive plinth with an aluminum cover.
  • RGB Platter Light: Dimmable, switchable, in any color.
  • Height-Adjustable Damper Feet and Dust Cover: AVM calls the dust cover resonance-free.

Drive, Platter and Speed Stability

The R 5.3 MK2 uses AVM's Elipso Centric belt drive with look-forward servo control. Speed changes between 33 and 45 rpm are microprocessor-controlled, and AVM rates speed variance at plus or minus 0.15% at 33 rpm and 0.10% at 45 rpm.

The platter is massive aluminum and weighs 5.5 kg. AVM pairs it with specially designed bearing technology for smooth running with minimal vibration, and quotes a signal-to-noise figure of -75 dB for the turntable.
