Wilson Benesch builds turntables the way most manufacturers build scientific instruments. The Greenwich and GMT One System share the same ALPHA-OMEGA direct drive architecture and the same 15-inch OMEGA motor, the largest ever developed for a turntable. Both run Wilson Benesch's proprietary digital motor control system, developed in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University, that maintains rotational accuracy to a level typically reserved for metrology equipment.
The Greenwich is the entry point into the GMT platform. At 64kg, it delivers the full direct drive experience with piezo-actuated VTA adjustment accurate to the micron and the Graviton tonearm. The GMT One System extends that foundation with a multi-layer composite plinth, additional isolation stages, and earned The Absolute Sound's 2025 Turntable of the Year. Both are made to order in Sheffield. Read the Technology Guide for the full GMT platform deep dive.
