The Oracle Audio Delphi MkVII Signature is the Delphi lit from within: LED lighting in its black acrylic base and in the floating sub-chassis, each zone's color chosen separately from the supplied remote. Oracle built it to outline the turntable's sculptural structure. Underneath is the full MkVII platform, with MVSS damping, a dual tripod bearing, a 4 kg two-piece platter and the Turbo MkII power supply included.
Oracle gave the Delphi MkVII Classic a clear base so you can watch the sub-chassis float. The Signature's black acrylic base does something different: it reflects the aluminum structure on its surface, so the sub-chassis stands out in high contrast whether the lights are on or off. The engineering follows the Classic's; the base, the lighting and the included Turbo MkII are what change.
Key Features of the Oracle Audio Delphi MkVII Signature Turntable
- Two-Zone LED Lighting: Lighting in the acrylic base and in the floating sub-chassis outlines the Delphi's structure, and each zone's color is set independently.
- Supplied Remote Control: Change the base and sub-chassis colors from the remote, alone or in combination.
- Black Acrylic Base: Reflects the aluminum sub-chassis on its surface for high contrast, lit or dark.
- Turbo MkII Power Supply Included: The only supply offered with the Signature. Ripple is under one millivolt, and the output is calibrated to 24.35 volts DC.
- Micro Vibration Stabilizer System (MVSS): Tapered plungers in silicone reservoirs damp micro vibrations inside the floating sub-chassis without short-circuiting the suspension.
- Dual Tripod Bearing: Six precision PEEK screws in two offset tripods center the spindle; a tungsten carbide ball tip rides on a Glass Filled Torlon thrust plate.
- Two-Piece Platter Assembly: The belt fits around the light inner hub before the 4 kg main platter goes on, preserving the bearing calibration and reducing platter resonances.
- Tri-Pedal Suspension: Three towers, each with 12 components and 7 mechanical filters.
- Factory-Calibrated AC Synchronous Motor: Impedance-matched coils, military-grade capacitors and dual current drive circuitry, all set before shipping.
- Pre-Cut Tonearm Board: Accommodates almost any 9-inch tonearm. Tonearm and cartridge are not included.
How Does the Signature's Lighting Work?
It runs in two zones, the acrylic base and the floating sub-chassis, and the supplied remote sets the color of each one independently. The base can glow one color while the sub-chassis shows another. Oracle's own photographs show the Signature in red, orange, yellow, green, teal, blue, purple, pink and white, in a two-color combination, and with the lights off.

Oracle's brief for the Signature was to take a turntable already seen as a work of art and add lighting that outlines its sculptural structure. The colors and their combinations are there so the turntable can match the mood of the moment; Oracle's phrase for it is "any color you like."

The remote is part of the package, so changing the look does not mean reaching over a playing record.

Why a Black Acrylic Base?
For contrast. The clear base on the Classic was meant to show the Delphi's reading apparatus floating in thin air. The Signature's black acrylic base reflects the aluminum structure on its surface instead, so the sub-chassis, platter and suspension towers stand out in very high contrast, with the lighting off as well as on.

It is acrylic, not granite. Oracle's granite base belongs to the Delphi MkVII Reference; the Signature keeps the acrylic foundation of the Classic and changes its color and what it does with light.

Which Power Supply Comes With the Signature?
The Turbo MkII, and only the Turbo MkII. It brings ripple down to under one millivolt, from 120 millivolts on the first Turbo, which Oracle names as the main source of its sonic gain, and a fine-trim potentiometer calibrates the output to 24.35 volts DC so the AC synchronous motor turns more smoothly, with less vibration.

The original Turbo arrived with the Delphi MkV in 1996. Oracle developed the MkII against other reference sources, special batteries among them, and says it outperformed them all. It is an outboard box, 210 x 184 x 70 mm, with a removable power cord. The same supply is sold separately as the Turbo Power Supply.
What Does the MVSS Do on the Delphi MkVII?
The Micro Vibration Stabilizer System damps the vibration generated inside the floating sub-chassis by the stylus, bearing and motor. Three tapered plungers under the sub-chassis dip into silicone reservoirs beside the suspension towers. Each full turn moves a plunger 1.27 mm, and Oracle's best results came at 1 1/2 to 2 turns, 1.90 to 2.54 mm deep.
The suspension isolates the deck from the outside; the MVSS captures what is left inside without short-circuiting that suspension. Oracle introduced it on the MkVI and calls it the single most significant improvement made to its turntable since 1979. The plungers are set by ear and locked with a threaded ring.
Bearing, Platter and Drive
Six precision PEEK screws center the spindle in two tripods, three at the top 120 degrees apart and three at the bottom offset 60 degrees. The tungsten carbide ball tip rests on a non-metallic Glass Filled Torlon thrust plate, which Oracle credits with limiting the noise the spinning platter makes. The 4 kg platter is diamond-cut 6061T6 aluminum-magnesium alloy.
The platter is two pieces: the belt goes around the light inner hub first, then the main ring is lowered on top, so the bearing calibration is never disturbed and platter resonances drop. Most of the mass sits at the outer edge for a flywheel effect. Oracle's record clamp and a hard acrylic mat, formulated to match the vinyl disc, come standard.
The low-voltage AC synchronous motor has impedance-matched coils. Its drive module is a precision frequency generator with military-grade capacitors and a calibration stage for the positive and negative sine wave voltages, and dual current drive circuitry gives full torque at start-up and minimum energy while running. A molded belt drives the platter at 33 1/3 and 45 RPM, and Oracle sets every calibration at the factory.
Suspension and the Floating Sub-Chassis
Three suspension towers carry the sub-chassis, platter and tonearm, each combining 12 components and 7 mechanical filters. The springs are color coded by strength (yellow, red, green and blue), and a counterweight on the sub-chassis adds mass at the front left tower to balance the tonearm. The sub-chassis is 3.9 kg of hand-brushed, clear-lacquered aluminum.
It is larger than earlier generations for better weight and mass distribution and a more accurate suspension calibration, its legs are shorter, and the tonearm mounting ring support is about 35 percent wider for rigidity. On the Signature it is also the upper lighting zone.
Which Tonearms and Dust Covers Fit the Signature?
The Signature comes with a pre-cut tonearm board that Oracle says accommodates almost any 9-inch tonearm; tonearm and cartridge are not included. Dust covers are chosen on this listing: none, a hinged clear acrylic cover with aluminum hinges, or Oracle's Full Dome cover, which covers the whole turntable and measures 19.75 x 15.25 x 8.5 inches.
Oracle's own Reference Tonearm and the Paris Tonearm both fit. The suspension is balanced to the arm's mass, so the arm is part of the setup. The Full Dome lifts clear rather than hinging and ships in a separate box; the Full Dome cover is also sold on its own.

How is the Delphi MkVII Signature different from the Classic and Reference?
How is the Delphi MkVII Signature different from the Classic and Reference?
In how it looks, not in its engineering, which Oracle documents on the Classic's page. The Signature adds lighting that outlines the Delphi's sculptural structure, with the color of the floating sub-chassis and of the base each chosen independently from the supplied remote. Its base is black acrylic, which reflects the aluminum structure for high contrast, where the Classic uses clear acrylic and the Reference sits on Oracle's heavier granite base. Every Signature also ships with the Turbo MkII power supply, an option on the Classic.
Which power supply comes with the Delphi Signature?
Which power supply comes with the Delphi Signature?
The Signature ships with Oracle's Turbo MkII power supply included. Oracle credits the Turbo MkII's sonic improvement mainly to lower ripple, under one millivolt against 120 millivolts on the original Turbo, with the output calibrated to 24.35 volts DC. Oracle's manual lists 100, 120 and 230 volt operation at 50 or 60Hz.
Is the Delphi Signature difficult to maintain?
Is the Delphi Signature difficult to maintain?
Not often. Oracle sets the critical calibrations at the factory, so owners do not need to touch them. Oracle's Delphi manual recommends a new drive belt every three years and about 3cc of fresh oil in the spindle when the platter goes back on. The two-piece platter lets the belt be fitted without removing the inner platter, which Oracle says preserves the accuracy of the main bearing.
Do I need to re-tune the suspension if I change the tonearm?
Do I need to re-tune the suspension if I change the tonearm?
Possibly. Oracle balances the suspension to the tonearm: a counterweight on the sub-chassis offsets the arm's mass on the front left tower, and the springs are made in several strengths. Oracle notes the springs generally only need replacing when you change the tonearm. Get in touch with Mike before fitting a different arm.
