Description

The Ruark R710 CD Hi-Fi Console is an all-in-one music system that puts a slot-loading CD player, hi-resolution streaming, a phono stage for vinyl, and a 200-watt-per-channel amplifier in one walnut cabinet. Add a pair of speakers and it runs the whole room: CDs, records, Spotify and TIDAL, internet radio, and TV sound, all without a rack of separate boxes. One console replaces a separate amplifier, streamer, and CD player.

Key Features of the Ruark R710
  • Integrated Slot-Loading CD Player: A full CD player concealed behind the walnut slats, reading Red Book CD-DA and CD-R discs with no visible tray or drawer.
  • 2 x 200W Class-D Amplifier: 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms at 0.01% THD, fed by a low-noise switch-mode power supply.
  • Hi-Res Streaming to 32-bit/192kHz: Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, internet radio, and HD Bluetooth, all built in.
  • Built-In MM Phono Stage: Connect a turntable directly through the RCA phono input, with no separate preamp to buy.
  • Burr-Brown 32-bit/192kHz DAC and ADC: High-resolution conversion in both directions for digital and analogue sources.
  • HDMI ARC/eARC: One cable to your TV for film and TV sound through your speakers.
  • RotoDial Control and a 6.8" Colour Display: The top-mounted RotoDial, a matching rechargeable wireless remote, and a high-contrast colour screen for menus and album art.
  • Two Real Finishes: Fused Walnut or Charcoal Lacquer, each with a walnut slat facia.
  • US Distribution by Fidelity Imports: Ruark's official United States distributor handles supply and support in the States.
200 Watts Per Channel From a Low-Noise Amplifier

The R710 runs a Hi-Fidelity Class-D amplifier rated at 2 x 200W into 4 ohms at 0.01% THD, fed by a switch-mode power supply with short signal paths and careful grounding for low noise. That is enough power to drive bookshelf and floorstanding speakers to room-filling levels with headroom to spare. Audio-grade components are used throughout, and switchable Stereo+ widens the soundstage when speakers sit close together.

Everything a Serious Listener Needs: Streaming, Radio and Media

A quad-core processor handles hi-res streaming to 32-bit/192kHz without stutter. Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, internet radio, and HD Bluetooth (aptX HD) are all built in, so almost any source finds a way in. The R710 also plays from UPnP/DLNA network media servers and a USB-C port, and plays lossless FLAC, AIFF, ALAC and WAV files up to 32-bit/192kHz.

A CD Player Hidden in the Walnut Slats

The R710 has a slot-loading CD player concealed behind the walnut facia, reading Red Book CD-DA and CD-R discs. The disc feeds in through the slats, so there is no visible tray to break the clean front. Ruark makes the case that uncompressed CD can still better streaming on sound quality, and building the player into the console means one less box and one less remote. It is the feature that sets the R710 apart from the streaming-only R610 below it.

A Built-In Phono Stage for Your Turntable

The R710 includes a moving-magnet (MM) phono stage on an RCA turntable input, rated to a maximum 8mV, so you can connect a record player directly with no external phono preamp. That keeps a full vinyl front end inside the same console that handles CDs and streaming. For anyone rebuilding a system around one tidy source, it removes a box that would otherwise sit between the turntable and the amplifier.

RotoDial Control, a Colour Display and Every Connection

The RotoDial controller, a Ruark hallmark since 2006 and redeveloped for the 100 Series, sits on the top surface, and a matching rechargeable wireless remote comes in the box. A high-contrast 6.8" colour TFT display with auto-dimming shows menus, station information, and album artwork. Around the back are HDMI ARC/eARC for TV sound, an optical input (to 24-bit/96kHz), stereo RCA line in, a selectable line/pre-out, a mono subwoofer output, a 3.5mm headphone jack, gold-plated 4mm binding posts, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and USB-C.

70s-Inspired Design in Two Finishes

The R710 measures 375mm wide, 125mm tall, and 345mm deep including its controls and feet, and weighs 6.6kg. Ruark describes it as a fusion of 70s-inspired design and modern technology, with the low, wide profile of a classic music centre. It comes in Fused Walnut, with a matching walnut cabinet and slat facia, or Charcoal Lacquer, which pairs a black lacquered cabinet with the same walnut slats. Both are made to sit out on a sideboard rather than hide in a rack.

How the R710 compares to the other Ruark consoles, and what each one adds.

$1,899
A 75W streaming console with a built-in phono stage and HDMI eARC. It plays CDs through the separate R-CD100 transport and needs a pair of speakers.

$3,499
Builds the CD player in and nearly triples the power to 2 x 200W, with a Burr-Brown DAC and ADC. Still a console, so it pairs with your speakers.
$4,999
A complete five-channel radiogram with its own twin tweeters, twin woofers, and a 200mm subwoofer built in, so there are no separate speakers to add.

Choose the R610 if you want a streaming console and already own a CD transport. The R710 builds the CD player in and adds the power for larger speakers. Step up to the R810 if you would rather have the speakers built into one cabinet. See the full range in Ruark Audio.

FAQ

Does the R710 come with speakers, or do I need to add them?

No. The R710 is a console, meaning it combines the amplifier, streamer, CD player, and phono stage in one cabinet, but it does not include speakers. You add a pair of your own. Ruark shows it partnered with the Talisman-R floorstanders or the smaller Sabre-R bookshelf speakers, and its 2 x 200W amplifier with gold-plated binding posts will drive most bookshelf or floorstanding speakers.

Where is the CD player on the R710?

It is concealed behind the walnut slat facia. The R710 has an integrated slot-loading CD player that reads Red Book CD-DA and CD-R discs, and the disc feeds in through the wooden slats rather than through a visible tray or drawer. The built-in CD player is the main feature that separates the R710 from the streaming-only R610 below it in the range.

Can I connect a turntable to the R710?

Yes. The R710 has a built-in moving-magnet (MM) phono stage on an RCA input, rated to a maximum 8mV, so you can connect a turntable directly with no separate phono preamp. Together with CD and streaming, that gives you a full vinyl front end inside the same console.

Does the R710 work on US voltage?

Yes. The R710 accepts 90 to 240 volts at 50 to 60Hz, so it runs on standard US household power. It is distributed in the United States through Fidelity Imports, and streaming, CD, and radio all work the same on a US system.

When will the R710 ship?

The R710 is available to pre-order now and is estimated to ship in October 2026. Ruark introduced it in mid-2026 for release later in the year, and pre-ordering reserves a unit from the first shipment. If the shipping date changes, we will let you know before your order is charged and sent.
