Ruark has been building cabinets in Essex since 1986, and this is how the company marked the fourth decade: not a new platform, but its established one-box system in materials it does not normally offer. Five hundred carry the badge. When they are gone, the white oak and ebony combination goes with them.

What the Anniversary Edition Changes, and What It Does Not

The changes are to the cabinet, not the audio. This and the standard R410 share the same 120W Class D amplification, drivers, Burr-Brown conversion and 40Hz to 22kHz in-room response. What changes is white oak veneer in place of walnut or satin charcoal, the handcrafted ebonised grille, the ebony inlay, the badge, and the fact that only five hundred exist.

White Oak, Ebonised Grille, Ebony Inlay

White oak is a lighter, more open grain than the walnut Ruark normally uses, and it changes how the system reads in a room: less mid-century, more Scandinavian. The grille is ebonised by hand rather than stained through, and a thin ebony veneer inlay runs the cabinet edge to separate the two tones.

120W of Class D Across Four Drivers

The R410 Anniversary Edition runs a fully active Class D design totaling 120W, so each driver gets its own amplification rather than one amplifier feeding a passive crossover. Two 20mm silk dome tweeters and two 100mm NS+ bass-mid woofers sit in a twin bass reflex cabinet, measuring 40Hz to 22kHz typical in-room. Bass and treble adjust -6dB to +6dB, and switchable Stereo+ widens the soundstage beyond the 560mm cabinet.

The inputs a separates rack needs three components to cover are already here. A moving magnet phono stage with adjustable 2mV to 7mV gain takes a turntable directly. HDMI ARC and eARC take the television. There is an optical input to 24-bit 96kHz, a stereo RCA line input to 2.3Vrms, a USB-C port that plays and charges, Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX HD, and a mono RCA subwoofer output at 2.0Vrms to go below 40Hz. Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi both reach the network.

Streaming and Radio Without a Separate Box

Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect run natively, so playback is controlled from the app you already use rather than a manufacturer front-end. AirPlay 2 and Google Cast are both on board, making the system multiroom-capable with other AirPlay or Cast devices. Hi-res files play to 32-bit 192kHz in FLAC, AIFF, ALAC and WAV, and the tuner covers internet radio, DAB/DAB+ and multi-region FM.

Living With the R410 Anniversary Edition

The high-contrast 4in TFT auto-dims, which matters on a system this often placed in a bedroom or living room rather than a listening room. Standby draws 2W, typical use 8W, and the remote recharges. Updates arrive over the air, by LAN or USB, and Ruark has confirmed that expanded alarms and Bluetooth headphone support both arrive by over-the-air update during 2026, not on day one.
