At this level, every detail matters: your room, your system, what you’re driving it with, what you’re listening to. I handle these orders personally because an investment like this deserves more than an Add to Cart button. We’ll work through system synergy, I’ll make sure the setup is right, and we’ll coordinate delivery so it arrives exactly how it should. A few of our brands require this direct approach, but at this price point, it’s how I’d do it anyway. Use the button above, or call/text me directly at 410-239-2020.

The Rogue Audio RA-1 is a stereo solid state power amplifier built on Hypex UcD Class D modules and a massive linear power supply, rated at 175 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 275 watts into 4 ohms. There are no tubes to bias and no regular maintenance. It's the same move Rogue made with the Sphinx integrated in 2012: lower the entry point, this time for a reference quality, full-featured power amplifier.
Key Features of the Rogue Audio RA-1
- 175/275 Watts Per Channel: Rated output into 8 and 4 ohms from Hypex UcD Class D modules
- Massive Linear Power Supply: The supply Rogue credits with making the RA-1 an amplifier worthy of the Rogue name
- Selectable XLR or RCA Inputs: Balanced and single-ended inputs, with a switch to choose between them
- Stereo or Bridged Operation: A rear-panel switch selects stereo or bridged mode
- 12V Trigger Input: Lets a preamp or processor with a trigger output switch the RA-1 on with the rest of the system
- No Tube Biasing, No Regular Maintenance: An energy-efficient design with standby circuitry for reduced warm-up time
- Protected and Heavily Built: Short circuit protection, a heavy 2 ounce copper circuit board, precision components and heavy-duty gold plated binding posts
- Machined Aluminum Faceplate: In black or silver, on a 3/4 size chassis
- Made in the USA: Every unit is fully tested, burned in and auditioned, and covered by a 3 year limited warranty on the electronics
Why Rogue Built a Solid State Power Amplifier
The RA-1 is the all solid state member of Rogue's power amplifier line, and it comes out of more than a decade of Rogue work getting the best sound from Class D amplifiers. Rogue's hybrid integrated amplifiers, such as the Sphinx v3, pair a tube preamplifier with a Class D output stage. The RA-1 has no tubes at all.
Rogue describes the reasoning plainly: with the success of its hybrid Class D integrated and power amps, a solid state power amp was a natural extension. Just as the Sphinx did in 2012, the RA-1 lowers the entry point for a reference quality, full-featured power amplifier from Rogue.
Hypex UcD Modules on a Linear Power Supply
The RA-1 uses Hypex UcD Class D modules and feeds them from a massive linear power supply. Rated output is 175 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 275 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with frequency response of 5Hz to 30kHz within 1dB. Distortion is under 0.1% typical and under 1.0% at rated power.

Rogue calls the supply its world class power supply implementation and treats it as the reason the RA-1 is an amplifier worthy of the Rogue name. The circuit sits on a heavy 2 ounce copper circuit board built with precision components, and short circuit protection is standard.
Stereo or Bridged: Two Ways to Run the RA-1
A switch on the rear panel, between the left and right speaker outputs, sets the RA-1 to stereo or bridged operation. In stereo it is rated at 175 watts per channel into 8 ohms. Rogue's spec sheet does not list a bridged power rating.
Connections: XLR, RCA and a 12V Trigger
The RA-1 has both balanced XLR and single-ended RCA inputs, and the active input is selected with a switch. Input impedance is 47K ohms and input sensitivity is 1.0V RMS. Speaker connections are heavy-duty gold plated binding posts. A 12V trigger input lets a preamp, processor or controller with a trigger output turn the RA-1 on and off with the rest of the system.
Build Quality and Ownership
Rogue calls the RA-1 an energy efficient "green" design, with no tube biasing and no regular maintenance. Standby circuitry reduces warm-up time. The faceplate is machined aluminum, in black or silver, on a 3/4 size chassis that measures 15.25 inches wide, 14.5 inches deep and 5 inches high and weighs 26 pounds.
Every RA-1 is fully tested, burned in and auditioned, the rear panel is marked Made in the U.S.A., and the electronics carry a 3 year limited warranty.

The RA-1 is the Rogue power amp with no tubes; the Atlas Magnum III and Stereo 100 run KT120 output tubes, and the DragoN models pair 12AU7 tubes with Class D. Browse the Rogue Audio power amplifier collection.
