Rogue Audio DragoN Monoblock Amplifiers; Pair
The Rogue Audio DragoN Monoblock Amplifiers deliver 325 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 525 watts into 4 ohms from dedicated mono chassis, using Rogue's proprietary tubeD circuit to integrate a matched pair of 12AU7 tubes with Hypex N-Core Class D output modules. Sold as a pair, each monoblock carries its own three independent linear power supplies, eliminating the interchannel crosstalk inherent in stereo designs and providing the kind of channel separation and dynamic headroom that only dedicated mono amplification can achieve.
The fundamental advantage of monoblock amplification is isolation. In a stereo amplifier, both channels draw from shared power supply resources, which means a dynamic peak in one channel can momentarily starve the other. When bass drums hit in the left channel, the right channel's string sustain can compress slightly. In a monoblock design, each channel has its own dedicated power supplies, its own transformer reserves, and its own current delivery path. The DragoN Monoblocks take this further by housing three separate linear supplies in each chassis: one for the tube input stage, one for the N-Core output module's power rail, and one for auxiliary circuits. With six total power supplies across the pair, there is zero shared infrastructure between channels.
The DragoN Monoblocks use the same proprietary tubeD circuit found in the DragoN stereo amplifier, with each monoblock containing a matched pair of 12AU7 tubes integrated into the gain structure ahead of the Hypex N-Core output module. The tubes handle voltage amplification and impose their harmonic character on the signal, while the N-Core module delivers the current and damping factor needed to control loudspeaker drivers with precision. Unlike simple tube buffer designs, the tubeD topology makes the tube section a functional part of the amplifier's gain chain, meaning the sonic contribution of the tubes is substantive rather than cosmetic.

Each DragoN Monoblock accepts both balanced (XLR) and single-ended (RCA) inputs. The balanced connection is particularly valuable in a monoblock setup, where the amplifiers may be placed far from the preamplifier. Balanced cables reject common-mode noise over long runs, making 20-foot or even 30-foot XLR cables practical without signal degradation. Pair with Rogue's RP-7 v2 or RP-9 v2 preamplifiers for a fully balanced signal path from source to speaker.
With 325 watts into 8 ohms and 525 watts into 4 ohms, each DragoN Monoblock provides more current than most speakers will ever demand. This headroom means the amplifier operates well within its linear range at normal listening levels, staying far from clipping even during the most demanding dynamic passages. Planar magnetic speakers, electrostatic hybrids, power-hungry floorstanders, and speakers with complex impedance curves all benefit from the DragoN's combination of high power, high damping factor, and dedicated mono power delivery.
The DragoN Monoblocks can be ordered with factory-installed 12V triggers for $419 per pair. With the trigger modification and trigger cables in place, power is controlled exclusively through the trigger input, letting both monoblocks switch in unison with the rest of your system from a preamp, processor, or controller. This is a build-time option specified at order, not a field upgrade.
