Description

Arriving mid-to-late October 2025, the Perlisten S7t Black Edition brings the full acoustic pedigree of the acclaimed S7t Limited to a wider audience. This production model retains the groundbreaking driver technology, refined cabinet geometry, and low-frequency authority of the Limited, with aluminum side panels replacing the Limited’s carbon fiber. It remains a flagship loudspeaker that blends the finesse of a reference-grade two-channel system with the dynamic headroom of a top-tier cinema speaker. Capable of extending to 20Hz in-room, the S7t Black Edition delivers the scale, precision, and depth that define Perlisten’s best. Acoustically and aesthetically, it is also optimized to pair seamlessly with the Perlisten D8is subwoofer.

Drivers & DPC Array

DPC Array: The S7t Black Edition features Perlisten’s trademark triple tweeter DPC (Directivity Pattern Control) array, composed of two 28mm TPCD (thin ply carbon diaphragm) Textreme domes placed above and below a 28mm beryllium dome. The beryllium dome operates above 4.4kHz, while the TPCD domes handle the critical upper midrange. The sculpted waveguide housing the DPC array is CNC-machined from a single 40mm billet of 6061-T6 aluminum. This alloy construction ensures perfect geometry for dispersion control and also acts as a heatsink to maintain even operating temperatures across all three tweeters.

Woofers: For midrange and bass duties, the S7t Black Edition’s quadruple TPCD Textreme inverted domes hide a redesigned voice coil with longer windings, a new secondary aluminum shorting ring for improved thermal management, and an external copper heatsink. This secondary shorting ring doubles as a large heatsink inside the motor structure, connected via custom aluminum fasteners to the external copper heatsink. The result is 20% more linear excursion, reduced inductance, improved thermal handling, lower distortion, and enhanced transient response.

Cabinet Structure Upgraded with Radiused Aluminum Panels

The cabinet structure of the original S7t has been upgraded with radiused aluminum over HDF side panels. These panels provide increased stiffness and stunning aesthetics while creating an 8% increase in internal cabinet volume without altering the speaker’s footprint. The additional volume takes full advantage of the woofer upgrades, allowing deeper, more controlled bass extension. The gently radiused shape also reduces diffraction and helps the cabinet visually blend into a room. Combined with its ultra-rigid build and 112 kg (247 lbs) total weight, the S7t Black Edition sets a new benchmark for resonance control and mechanical integrity.

Massive Stability & Isolation with 18kg Machined Steel Base

The S7t Black Edition sits on a massive 18kg machined steel base that is 20mm thick. This heavy platform anchors the speaker to the floor, lowering the center of gravity and reducing cabinet vibration. The increased mass (compared to the original S7t’s 10kg base) improves clarity and microdetail by minimizing energy loss through unwanted movement.

Crossover Refinement

The crossover network in the S7t Black Edition has been re-engineered to optimize the new cabinet and woofer system. Every crossover component is tested to within 1% tolerance, ensuring exceptional consistency and performance from speaker to speaker. The tuning prioritizes seamless integration of the DPC array with the low-frequency drivers, maintaining Perlisten’s signature coherence and dynamic range.

Summary of Upgrades Over the Standard S7t
  • Radiused aluminum side panels over HDF, increasing cabinet volume by 8% without changing footprint
  • CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum waveguide for improved thermal management and precision dispersion
  • Quadruple TPCD woofers with redesigned voice coils, aluminum shorting ring, and external copper heatsink
  • Increased woofer excursion (+20%) with reduced distortion and inductance
  • 18kg machined steel base (vs. 10kg on the standard S7t) for stability and vibration control
  • Crossover components tested to 1% tolerance for consistency
  • Total speaker weight of 112 kg (247 lbs) for unmatched resonance control
