The FLS20 is more than just a digital source. It’s Audia Flight’s uncompromising answer to what a modern SACD player should be. Designed entirely in-house and built in Italy, the FLS20 brings together decades of engineering experience, a fully isolated top-loading transport, dual mono 32-bit Sabre DACs, and a power supply architecture that rivals most reference amplifiers.
This is a player that respects the integrity of every disc in your library. Whether it’s a treasured SACD, a red book CD, or a digital stream via USB or AES/EBU, the FLS20 handles the signal with extraordinary care. Mechanical vibration, jitter, and noise are minimized at every stage. What’s left is the pure musical content rendered with resolution, scale, and tonal refinement.
If you’re building a system around discs, the FLS20 is your foundation.

Designed for Silence, Built for Speed
Disc playback begins with the transport, and Audia Flight didn’t settle. The FLS20’s top-loading mechanism was designed from scratch, with a singular focus on eliminating vibration. All mechanical movement is decoupled from the circuitry and isolated from external noise. The result is precision disc reading with none of the smearing or instability that can plague high-res audio retrieval.
Signal conversion is handled by a pair of flagship Sabre ES9038PRO DAC chips, configured in full dual mono topology. Each DAC is dedicated to a single channel, with independent digital paths and fully discrete analog output stages. The DACs are clocked by a Crystek CCHD-950, one of the most stable low-noise master clocks available today, further reducing jitter and improving dynamic response.
To ensure absolute fidelity, all digital signal processing is powered by ten individually regulated low-noise power supplies. These isolated circuits ensure that timing, decoding, and conversion happen without interference or cross-talk. Whether you’re playing an SACD or streaming high-res PCM or DSD files through the USB input, the FLS20 preserves clarity and timing with extraordinary discipline.
Analog Performance, Audia Style
The output section is built in true Audia Flight tradition: fully discrete, fully Class A, and fully balanced. Current-feedback topology provides outstanding stability into a variety of loads. The analog stage is fed by a dedicated 80VA toroidal transformer, isolated from both digital and control circuits.
Output can be configured as fixed or variable, making the FLS20 a legitimate front-end controller in high-performance systems.
The chassis is a work of industrial art. From the thick aluminum faceplate to the rigid internal architecture, every element is tuned for silence, thermal performance, and long-term durability. The CD/SACD mechanism loads through the top, offering a satisfying tactile experience and precise disc handling.
This is what disc playback looks like when the entire design is driven by musical fidelity.
The Audia Flight Digital Line, Compared
The FLS20 and CD Three S have a disc drive of their own. The FLS22 converts the digital sources you already own.
Choose the FLS20 when SACD and CD are part of your library. If your music comes from streamers, servers and other digital sources, see the converter in Audia Flight DACs.
The Listening Room Difference
The Listening Room is a third-generation, family-run hi-fi store based in Chestertown, Maryland. We don’t just list products, we stock them, test them, and set them up in real-world reference systems. Every component we carry is here for a reason, and every customer gets the same level of care and attention we’d want for ourselves.
We go beyond the sale to make sure your system performs at its best. That’s what sets us apart.

Can I use the Audia Flight FLS20 as a DAC?
Can I use the Audia Flight FLS20 as a DAC?
Yes. It has four digital inputs (optical, AES/EBU, coaxial and USB) feeding two Sabre ES9038PRO converters, one per channel. To select one, stop disc playback and press INPUT on the front panel or IN on the remote. For DSD over USB there are four analog filter choices, and seven PCM filters. Get in touch with Mike to check it against your computer or streamer.
How do I play the SACD layer of a hybrid disc on the FLS20?
How do I play the SACD layer of a hybrid disc on the FLS20?
With the LAYER button. On a multi-layer disc the FLS20 reads the CD layer by default; press LAYER to step to SACD (and then MULTI, where present) and release it, and the player rereads the disc and plays that layer.
Can the FLS20 connect straight to a power amplifier?
Can the FLS20 connect straight to a power amplifier?
Yes. Its variable output setting, turned on from the remote's SET menu, gives it a volume control; it starts at full attenuation when first enabled. Outputs are balanced XLR and RCA from a fully balanced Class A stage, and Audia Flight recommends balanced cables if the amplifier is not close by. It has no analog inputs, so it can switch only between the disc and its digital sources.
Audia Flight FLS20 or CD Three S?
Audia Flight FLS20 or CD Three S?
The FLS20 plays SACD as well as CD, uses two ES9038PRO converters in mono mode with a Crystek clock, and has four digital inputs and four digital outputs including I2S. The CD Three S is CD only, with an ES9026PRO converter, and gains digital inputs only through an optional board. When the FLS20 arrives, remove the four red-labeled transport screws underneath with a 3mm hex key before use.
