Kora's digital and phono components are the source side of the Kora range, and this page holds the three standalone Kora source components The Listening Room carries: a DAC, a CD player and a phono stage. All three are designed and built in Toulouse, France, by the company behind the Square Tube amplifiers, and each one comes in Kora's mineral grey finish over aluminum and steel casework.
The DAC140 and CD 140 share a digital core. An AKM upsampler takes the signal to 768 kHz, a ROHM DAC converts at 32 bits, and a Square Tube stage with a pure analog output filter handles the output. The DAC140 also takes RCA, XLR, TOSLINK and USB inputs from other sources. The PHONO STAGE comes from Kora's professional division, built on the EPC1 D ultra-low-noise laboratory preamp, with four programmable inputs for moving magnet, moving coil and variable reluctance cartridges, plus cartridge demagnetization and a subsonic filter. Pair any of them with Kora's preamplifiers or integrated amplifiers.
