The Oracle Audio Paris MkV is a belt-drive turntable that carries its platter, tonearm and cartridge on a semi-floating sub-chassis, suspended on fiberglass rods and sorbothane rings to keep outside vibration away from the stylus. Oracle redesigned it around what it learned building the Delphi MkVI, runs the motor from a precision sine-wave drive circuit, and finishes it in six piano lacquer colors, with or without Oracle's Paris tonearm.
Key Features of the Oracle Paris MkV
- Semi-Floating Sub-Chassis: Platter and tonearm ride on an adjustable dual-rod suspension of fiberglass rods and sorbothane rings.
- Two-Piece Platter: An aluminum hub supports the main acrylic platter.
- Precision Drive Electronics: A high-precision oscillator feeds the low-voltage AC synchronous motor a clean sine wave and isolates it from line voltage fluctuations.
- Push-Button Speed Selection: Separate 33 and 45 RPM buttons, with each speed calibrated by potentiometer.
- Paris Tonearm Option: Oracle's Paris arm, built on the Pro-Ject 9CC carbon arm with Oracle's own micro vibration silicone damping.
- Turbo Power Supply Option: The Turbo MkII, which Oracle highly recommends for the best performance from the table.
- Six Piano Lacquer Finishes: Black, Red, Blue, Titanium Grey, Yellow and White, with custom color matching available from Oracle.
How Does the Paris MkV Suspension Work?
The Paris MkV mounts its platter and tonearm on a semi-floating sub-chassis. Instead of the Delphi's full floating spring suspension, Oracle uses a dual-rod system of fiberglass rods and sorbothane rings, a much simpler design that still keeps footfall and rack vibration away from the parts that read the groove. The suspension is adjustable.
Oracle kept the look of the original Paris for the MkV and redesigned nearly everything underneath it. The suspension was rebuilt using the findings that led to the Delphi MkVI, and the idea is the same one that runs through every Oracle design: layer different materials inside one assembly so each one soaks up the vibration the others let through.
Drive System and Speed Control
The Paris is belt driven by a low-voltage AC synchronous motor. Its drive electronics use a high-precision oscillator circuit that generates a clean sine wave for the motor, which keeps rotational speed steady and isolates the motor from impurities and fluctuations in your line voltage. Two buttons in the upper right corner select 33 or 45 RPM, and pressing the same button again stops the platter. Each speed can be fine-tuned with its own potentiometer.
Power Supply Options
Every Paris ships with Oracle's regular external power supply (24 to 28 VDC, 500 mA). The Turbo Power Supply MkII is the upgrade Oracle highly recommends for getting the most out of the table, and you can order the Paris with it or add it later.
Oracle Paris Tonearm
The Paris can be ordered with or without Oracle's Paris tonearm. The arm starts from the Pro-Ject 9CC carbon tonearm and adds Oracle's micro vibration silicone damping device, which absorbs resonances the stylus sets up inside the arm itself. It is factory-mounted and aligned when ordered with the turntable. If you would rather use a different arm, the Paris accepts tonearms up to 228 mm center to center, and Oracle makes pre-cut armboards for the tonearm of your choice.
Six Piano Lacquer Finishes
The Paris MkV comes in six piano lacquer colors: Black, Red, Blue, Titanium Grey, Yellow and White. If none of them is right, Oracle's paint artist will match a color of your choosing. Ask us about a custom build.
Dust Cover
A clear acrylic hinged dust cover is sold separately. With the cover fitted, the Paris stands 6 inches tall.

How does the Paris MkV differ from the Delphi?
How does the Paris MkV differ from the Delphi?
The Paris floats its platter and tonearm on a semi-floating sub-chassis suspended on fiberglass rods and sorbothane rings, a deliberately simpler system than the Delphi MkVII's fully floating tri-pedal towers and MVSS vibration control. It was designed with findings from the Delphi program and brings Oracle's isolation thinking to a simpler, lighter turntable. Step up to the Delphi for the full suspension and its modular upgrade path.
Does the Paris MkV come with a tonearm?
Does the Paris MkV come with a tonearm?
Your choice. Order it with Oracle's Paris carbon-fiber tonearm factory-mounted and aligned, or order it without an arm and have your preferred arm (up to 228 mm center to center) fitted to a pre-cut armboard.
Is the Turbo power supply upgrade worth it on the Paris?
Is the Turbo power supply upgrade worth it on the Paris?
The Turbo adds better voltage regulation, lower noise, and improved speed stability; the audible payoff is tighter bass and more defined transients. Oracle highly recommends it for getting the most from the table. The standard supply is a fine starting point, and the Turbo Power Supply can be added on its own later.
Why is the Paris MkV built to order?
Why is the Paris MkV built to order?
Oracle builds every turntable to order at their workshop in Canada rather than pulling a finished unit off a warehouse shelf. If you are working toward a date, get in touch with Mike for current timing.
Can I get the Paris MkV in a custom color?
Can I get the Paris MkV in a custom color?
Yes. Beyond the six piano lacquer finishes, Oracle's paint shop will match a color of your choice. They once matched a customer's vintage Triumph TR6.
