The Chord Electronics 2yu is the missing link between the 2go streamer and every DAC that is not the Hugo 2. Connect the 2yu to the 2go and you get USB, BNC coaxial, RCA coaxial, and optical digital outputs, turning Chord's portable streaming module into a full network bridge with Roon Ready certification, 4TB of local storage, and PCM support up to 768kHz. One compact stack, four output options, zero laptops required.

Why the 2yu Exists
The 2go was designed to dock with the Hugo 2, feeding digital audio directly into the Hugo 2's FPGA DAC. But what if you own a Qutest, an M Scaler, a Hugo TT2, or a third-party DAC? The 2yu solves that problem. It physically connects to the 2go in place of the Hugo 2 and provides standard digital audio outputs that work with any DAC on the market. The 2go handles streaming, storage, and network connectivity. The 2yu handles the output conversion.
The combination inherits everything the 2go offers: Roon Ready streaming, DLNA, AirPlay, Bluetooth, Tidal, Qobuz, internet radio, and up to 4TB of microSD music storage. The 2yu simply redirects that audio to a different destination.
Digital Output Options on the Chord Electronics 2yu
The USB Type-A output is the highest-bandwidth option, supporting PCM up to 768kHz (32-bit) and DSD up to DSD256 via DoP. Use this for DACs that accept USB input, which is most modern designs. The BNC coaxial output at 75 ohms handles PCM up to 384kHz and DSD up to DSD128, ideal for Chord's own Qutest and M Scaler. RCA coaxial covers PCM up to 384kHz and DSD64. The TOSLINK optical output tops out at 192kHz PCM and DSD64.
An integrated sample rate converter automatically downsamples if your source material exceeds what the selected output can handle. Playing a 768kHz file over optical? The 2yu drops it to 192kHz automatically. No manual configuration needed. The four polychromatic spherical controls on the front let you select which output is active, plus power, mute, and display dimming.
Building a Network Streaming System
The most common use case for the 2go/2yu stack is feeding a home DAC from the network. Connect the 2yu's BNC output to a Qutest DAC and you have a Roon Ready streaming system with local storage for under $3,000 combined. Run the USB output into an M Scaler and then into a DAVE for a reference-level streaming front end. Or use the optical output to feed a home theater processor that accepts TOSLINK.
For multi-room setups, each 2go/2yu stack appears as a separate Roon endpoint. Place one in every room with a DAC and control them all from a single Roon interface. The 2go's Wi-Fi handles the streaming; the 2yu handles the physical connection to each room's system.
Where the 2yu Fits in the Chord Lineup
The 2yu is the only Chord product that converts the 2go's streaming capabilities into standard digital outputs. Without it, the 2go only works with the Hugo 2. The 2yu requires a 2go to function; it has no standalone capability. Together they form a compact, battery-powered network bridge that competes with dedicated streaming transports at several times the price. For listeners who already own the 2go and Hugo 2 but want to add a second system, the 2yu lets the 2go do double duty.
