The Cambridge Audio MSX20 is a compact satellite speaker that pairs two Balanced Mode Radiator drivers, including a dedicated low-frequency unit, to deliver more scale and depth than a speaker this size suggests. It sits a step above the MSX10 in Cambridge Audio's modular MSX range, built for music and multi-channel surround where you want presence without a large cabinet.
Key Features of the MSX20
-
Dual Balanced Mode Radiator Drivers: Two 2.25-inch BMR units, one handling mid-bass and one dedicated to low frequencies, for fuller and more detailed sound.
-
Lower Reach Than the MSX10: Response down to 120Hz adds noticeable body and weight.
-
88dB Sensitivity: A touch more efficient, so it is easy to drive across a range of amplifiers.
-
Up to 180-Degree Dispersion: Wide, even coverage for a consistent balance around the room.
-
Slim Upright Cabinet: 155mm tall and 79mm wide, ready for shelf, stand, or wall.
-
Passive 8-Ohm Design: Matches any amplifier or AV receiver rated 25 to 200 watts.
-
Surround Capable: Works as stereo fronts or as part of a full MSX surround layout.
-
Two Matte Finishes: Matte black or matte white.
Two Drivers, More Scale
The MSX20 keeps the Balanced Mode Radiator approach of the MSX10 but doubles up, adding a second driver dedicated to low frequencies. That extra driver is what gives the MSX20 its greater presence and depth: the same wide dispersion, with more weight behind it. It is the satellite to reach for when the MSX10 sounds right tonally but you want more body.

Controlled Low-End Performance
Reaching down to 120Hz, the MSX20 fills in the lower midrange and upper bass that small single-driver speakers tend to leave thin. Cambridge Audio tunes the dual-driver array for control rather than exaggeration, so voices and instruments keep their natural shape. Add an MSX subwoofer and the satellites hand off cleanly to deep bass.
Designed to Disappear
The MSX20 stays compact at 79mm wide, standing a little taller than the MSX10 to house its second driver. It mounts to a wall with the included bracket, sits on a stand, or rests on a shelf with the supplied feet. Matte black and matte white finishes keep it discreet in any room.
Connecting the MSX20
As a passive speaker, the MSX20 connects to any amplifier or AV receiver with speaker terminals. Its 8-ohm load and 25 to 200 watt range suit everything from a desktop amplifier to a home-theater receiver, and multiple pairs scale into a full surround system within the MSX range.

More in the Cambridge Audio MSX Series
The MSX20 is the larger of the two satellite speakers in Cambridge Audio's MSX modular range.
-
MSX10 - The smaller single-driver satellite, ideal for tighter spaces and surround duty.
-
MSX Sub 200 - A compact active subwoofer that adds controlled low end.
-
MSX Sub 300 - More output and deeper extension for larger rooms.
