The AVM Ovation MA 6.3 is a pair of Class A/AB MOS-FET mono power amplifiers, each rated at 1000 W into 4 ohms and 680 W into 8 ohms. Each amplifier has a 1000 VA toroidal transformer, three independent power supplies and 200,000 µF of filtering, and AVM states that the MOS-FET high-current stages deliver up to 300 amperes.
The MA 6.3 is a mono power amplifier in AVM's Ovation line. Its input stages are fully symmetric and DC-coupled, and this listing is for a pair.
Key Features of the AVM Ovation MA 6.3
- 1000 W Into 4 Ohms: Per amplifier, and 680 W into 8 ohms, from Class A/AB MOS-FET high current technology.
- Up to 300 Amperes: AVM's figure for the MOS-FET high-current output stages.
- 1000 VA Toroidal Transformer: Part of three independent power supplies, with 200,000 µF of filtering per amplifier.
- Symmetric, DC-Coupled Inputs: Fully symmetric, DC-coupled input stages, XLR and RCA.
- Protection Circuits: Overload and overheating protection.
- Graphic Display and AIR Trigger: A large, blue-illuminated graphic display and AVM's AIR trigger (AVM Intelligent Remote).
What Drives the MA 6.3?
Each MA 6.3 is a mono amplifier rated in AVM's technical data at 1000 W into 4 ohms and 680 W into 8 ohms. AVM describes the MOS-FET high-current output stages as delivering up to 300 amperes, and states that the pair drives even the most demanding speakers.
Three independent power supplies, including a 1000 VA toroidal transformer, feed each amplifier, with 200,000 µF of filtering per amplifier. AVM rates the signal-to-noise ratio at 101 dB(A), distortion below 0.1% at 25 W into 4 ohms, a frequency response from below 5 Hz to above 50 kHz and a damping factor above 400.

Inputs, Display and Protection
The fully symmetric, DC-coupled input stages take XLR and RCA inputs, with input impedances of 14 kohm and 6.8 kohm. A large, blue-illuminated graphic display and menu functions, including adjustable input sensitivity and a peak power display, cover setup.
The MA 6.3 has AVM's AIR trigger (AVM Intelligent Remote) and overload and overheating protection circuits. Standby consumption is below 0.5 W, and AVM states that the MA 6.3 can be updated so future features can be added.
Silver, Black or Cellini
The aluminum case comes in silver or black, or as the Cellini version with a chrome front. Each amplifier measures 430 x 130 x 390 mm and weighs 21 kg, and AVM ships every Ovation model in a robust AVM flight case.
