The Matrix Audio SFP Module (MA-SFP-LX-SM1310-LC) is Matrix Audio's own 1Gbps single-mode, dual-fiber SFP module. Matrix Audio's SS-1 and SS-1 Pro network switches each have two SFP/SFP+ ports that take optical fiber or RJ45 modules, and a fiber link through those ports gives complete electrical isolation between network devices and audio equipment.

Why Run Fiber Into the Audio System

Matrix Audio designed the SFP ports on the SS-1 and SS-1 Pro so upstream network devices and digital audio players can both connect through them. When that connection runs over fiber optic cable, there is no electrical path between the network gear and the audio gear, which keeps high-frequency noise and interference from network devices from traveling through the ground wire into the audio equipment.

Compatibility

Built for the SFP/SFP+ ports on the Matrix Audio SS-1 and SS-1 Pro. Sold individually. A fiber link uses a module at each end, connected by single-mode fiber with LC connectors.
