Genuine Magnepan replacement fuses, the same Eaton/Bussmann fast-blow fuses Magnepan fits at the factory. Each order ships as a matched set of two, one fuse for each speaker in your pair. This is the part that stands between a power spike and a burned-out ribbon or midrange element, rated to the value Magnepan specified for your model.
Why a genuine fuse matters
The fuse in a Magnepan is not a place to experiment. Magnepan ships every speaker with Eaton/Bussmann fuses, the certified industry standard, and the terminal plate on the back of your speaker states the maximum value it will accept. Fit the wrong value, a slow-blow where a fast-blow belongs, or bypass the fuse entirely, and you remove the one thing protecting the driver. A blown fuse is a cheap fix. A melted ribbon is a repair bill. We would rather sell you the correct fuse and earn your business on service than watch a bypass mod cost you a panel.
Find your model, order that value
Every fuse ships in a set of two. Models that use two different values (a midrange fuse and a separate tweeter fuse) need one set of each. For example, a pair of MG-3.7 takes one 5 amp set for the midrange and one 2.5 amp set for the tweeter. Models with a single fuse list it under Tweeter, with Midrange marked N/A. The x and i variants of a model use the same value as the base model (a 1.7, 1.7i, and 1.7x all take the same fuse).
Midrange and tweeter values by model
*The 30.7 uses two 5 amp fuses per channel, one for the mid-bass and one for the midrange, plus a 2.5 amp tweeter fuse. A pair takes two 5 amp sets and one 2.5 amp set.
