The Dynavector DV-10X5A Cartridge Exchange lets you trade in your worn or damaged DV-10X5A and take $251 off a brand-new one. The cartridge is the only part of your system that genuinely wears out: a diamond riding a groove until it starts to tell on itself. A dull stylus, a worn suspension, a cantilever that lost a fight with tiny hands or a rambunctious cat. When yours is spent, you shouldn't have to pay full price to hear your records again. Send back the old DV-10X5A and a factory-fresh one comes the other way, same model, $251 less. Not a retip, not a rebuild.

Two ways to handle the packaging

I'll provide my own packaging. Package the cartridge well, use the original box if you still have it, then ship it to our Chestertown showroom.

Listening Room Packaging at $19.95. We'll ship you a box with a prepaid return label inside. Open it, follow the instructions for safely packaging your cartridge, then drop the box at any USPS location.

What qualifies as a trade-in

Any worn or damaged Dynavector DV-10X5A. A worn-out diamond, worn suspension, bent cantilever, snapped stylus, cosmetic damage. It doesn't have to be broken. Even a good cartridge that's simply run its hours qualifies. The trade-in is same-model only, a DV-10X5A for a DV-10X5A. Want to move up the Dynavector line with your trade-in? Is this really a brand-new cartridge?

Yes. You're getting a factory-sealed, brand-new Dynavector DV-10X5A with full warranty. The same cartridge you'd find on the regular DV-10X5A product page, just $251 off because you're trading in your old one.

Does it have to be broken, or does worn count?

Worn counts. A worn-out diamond or worn suspension qualifies just like damage does. It doesn't have to be broken. If your DV-10X5A has simply run its hours, it's eligible.

Can I trade in my DV-10X5A for a different Dynavector model?

This trade-in is same-model only, a DV-10X5A for a DV-10X5A. If you want to move up the Dynavector line with your trade-in, contact Mike and he'll work out a deal with you. The program runs all the way up to the Te Kaitora Rua.

What if I change my mind after I mail the old cartridge?

Once your old cartridge is in the mail to us, the trade-in is final. Cancel before you ship and we'll refund the order in full.

How long does it take?

Five to seven business days from when we receive your old cartridge at our Chestertown showroom. The clock starts when your old cartridge arrives here, not when you place the order, so the sooner you ship it the sooner your brand-new DV-10X5A is on its way back to you.
