Cyrus iR14 Remote Control

The Cyrus iR14 is a learning infrared handset that sends commands to Cyrus amplifiers, CD players, audio streamers and the Phono Signature. It also takes on the commands of up to two other handsets, normally a TV and a set-top box, held on the dedicated TV and SAT keys. The keypad is backlit and lights when the handset is moved or a command is sent.

Compatibility

The iR14 sends commands to the following Cyrus components:

• Cyrus amplifiers
• Cyrus CD players
• Cyrus audio streamers (a firmware update may be needed to enable infrared control)
• Cyrus Phono Signature

Paired with the Cyrus MC-BUS communication system, the iR14 runs the system from one handset and shows which component it is currently controlling. Current 40 and 80 Series components use a different handset, the Cyrus 40 Series Remote Control.

Controls

The CYRUS key puts the handset into Cyrus mode, and the SOURCE group switches on and addresses an amplifier, CD player or audio streamer. Commands cover standby, volume and mute, input selection, transport, cursor navigation with ENTER and SELECT, menu, info, guide, text, channel, STORE, TV/AV LIST and SETUP. The Phono Signature is driven through keys reserved from the amplifier control system, working the same way as the front panel: press a key to select a function, change it with the cursor keys, confirm with ENTER or SELECT.

Learning is done key by key from the original handset. Two remotes can be stored, one on the TV key and one on the SAT key, and programmed commands can be checked afterward.
