The AVM PH Module MC is the balanced moving-coil input module for AVM's Evolution PH 3.3 and PH 5.3 phono preamplifiers: the MC XLR card in AVM's list of module choices. It plugs into the single module slot on the rear panel and adds an MC input on XLR connectors to the two RCA phono inputs both models already have.
Key Features of the AVM PH Module MC
- Balanced MC Input: Left and right XLR inputs for a moving-coil cartridge, plus a ground terminal.
- Made for the Evolution PH 3.3 and PH 5.3: Plugs into the one module slot both models have.
- Add It Later: AVM built the module slot so you can expand the phono preamplifier without replacing it.
- Cartridge Matching: The PH 3.3 and PH 5.3 offer five gain settings and six MC impedance values, set from the front panel or the included RC 3 PH remote.
Compatibility
- Fits: AVM Evolution PH 3.3 and PH 5.3 phono preamplifiers.
- Slot: Each PH 3.3 and PH 5.3 has one module slot, so it takes one module.
- Other choices for the same slot: AVM also lists MM RCA and MC RCA modules for the PH 3.3 and PH 5.3.
What the Module Adds
The module has a left and right XLR input for a moving-coil cartridge, plus a ground terminal on its panel. Cartridge settings such as gain and load are handled by the phono preamplifier itself, from its front panel or the RC 3 PH remote.

More from AVM
The module is made for the AVM Evolution PH 3.3, a fully solid-state phono preamplifier, and the AVM Evolution PH 5.3, which has a tube output stage. Browse the full AVM range.
