The AVM Audition CB 2.3 is a compact two-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker, sold as a pair. A 160 mm woofer and a fabric-dome tweeter are set into AVM's signature front panel, which wraps past the cabinet's edges.
The cabinet comes in high-gloss black or white with a silver aluminum front, or with AVM's chrome Cellini front.
Key Features of the AVM Audition CB 2.3
- Two-Way Bass Reflex: 160 mm woofer and fabric-dome tweeter, crossing over at 1,850 Hz.
- Frequency Range: 37 Hz to 50 kHz.
- Built-In Tilt: A solid, height-adjustable third leg at the rear tilts the speaker back toward ear level.
- High-Density Cabinet: Ultra-high-density fiber material reduces vibrations and resonances.
- Bi-Wiring Terminals: Two pairs of binding posts on the rear panel.
- Magnetic Grilles: The included covers attach magnetically.
- 4-Ohm Load, 88 dB Sensitivity: Power handling of 140 watts.
Compact Cabinet, Full Sound
AVM chose the CB 2.3's compact size deliberately, so it blends into medium-sized living spaces. AVM says that compactness took significant technical effort to get a full, harmonious sound and a high maximum volume from the form factor. The cabinet is made of ultra-high-density fiber material, which reduces unwanted vibrations and resonances.
Each speaker measures 170 x 285 x 220 mm and weighs 4.5 kg. The front panel measures 220 x 330 mm and extends around the speaker, so it also serves as the front positioning edge.

Placement and the Tilt Leg
The CB 2.3 rests on a solid, height-adjustable third leg at the rear. For a low board or any spot below listening height, AVM recommends using this built-in tilt to angle the speaker slightly backward, so the sound projects at ear level.
Drivers and Crossover
The CB 2.3 is a two-way bass-reflex design with a 160 mm woofer and a dome tweeter with a fabric membrane, crossing over at 1,850 Hz. AVM rates its frequency range from 37 Hz to 50 kHz, its sensitivity at 88 dB (1 W, 2.83 V) and its maximum sound pressure at 102 dB.
Nominal impedance is 4 ohms, with a minimum of 3.6 ohms at 240 Hz, and power handling is 140 watts. The rear panel carries two pairs of binding posts for bi-wiring.

Finishes
The cabinet is painted in high-gloss black or white. The standard front is silver aluminum, and the Cellini version swaps it for a chrome front at extra cost. The included speaker covers fix magnetically, so they come off and go back on easily.
