The AE300² brings technology developed for Acoustic Energy's flagship Corinium project into an accessible bookshelf format. This 2-way standmount speaker is designed for small to medium rooms where space is at a premium but sound quality is not. With its new paper and coconut-fibre driver, refined soft dome tweeter, and constrained-layer RSC™ cabinet, the AE300² delivers a refined, natural sound well beyond what its compact size and price suggest.
Recognized as a What Hi-Fi? Award winner, the AE300² proves that serious performance does not require a serious footprint. Whether paired with a modest integrated amp or a more ambitious system, these speakers reward good source material with open, detailed playback.

Corinium-Derived Drivers
The AE300² shares no single component with the previous 300 Series. Its all-new mid-woofer blends paper and coconut husk into a 120mm cone that delivers a smooth, natural, refined response while keeping the punch and pace Acoustic Energy is known for from its traditional aluminium drivers. The design comes straight out of the company's flagship Corinium project. Partnered with it is a newly developed 29mm soft dome tweeter, also derived from Corinium, that handles high frequencies with an open, delicate character and is tonally matched to the mid-woofer for even integration across the audible range. It extends to 29kHz with smooth off-axis response, so the stereo image stays locked whether you are seated dead center or off to one side.
Constrained-Layer RSC™ Cabinet
A first at this price point, the AE300² uses the constrained-layer RSC™ cabinet construction that Acoustic Energy pioneered in its Reference Series nearly fifteen years ago. The slimline 18mm MDF and bitumen enclosure is engineered to be inert, significantly reducing cabinet radiation so the drivers can work without interference from the box around them. The payoff is pure, uncolored sound from a cabinet that stays quiet while the music plays.
Slot-Loaded Rear Port
The slot-shaped duct port on the rear of the cabinet augments the bass output and has been carefully developed to reduce the effect of air turbulence. That tuning keeps the low end clean and controlled rather than boomy, even as the AE300² reaches down to 42Hz. Because the port fires rearward, the speakers like a little breathing room from the wall behind them.
Sound Character
The AE300² favors accuracy over exaggeration. The paper/coconut-fibre cone delivers fast, detailed midrange without the hardness that can come from metal drivers. Bass is tight and controlled rather than boomy, and the soft dome tweeter extends to 29kHz without becoming fatiguing. These are speakers that let you listen for hours without ear fatigue, revealing more detail as your system improves.
Silk-Touch Finishes
The AE300² comes in real walnut veneer or newly developed silk-touch matte black or matte white, each with screen-printed logos, color-matched trims, and premium grille fabrics matched to the finish. The slim magnetic grilles fit cleanly with no visible hardware. With clean, uncluttered lines and a slimmed-down cabinet, the AE300² settles easily into modern décor on a pair of stands or a bookshelf, carrying the look and presentation discerning Acoustic Energy owners have expected for over 35 years.
More in the Acoustic Energy 300 Series
The AE300² is the compact stand-mount in Acoustic Energy's 300 Series, which carries the same Corinium-derived drivers and constrained-layer RSC™ cabinets across every model. For medium rooms, the Acoustic Energy AE309² floorstander adds reach and output, while the larger three-way Acoustic Energy AE320² fills medium-to-large spaces. To get the most from the AE300² as a stand-mount, set it on a pair of dedicated Acoustic Energy Speaker Stands in American Walnut, Black, or White, which fix it at listening height and keep the rear port clear of the wall.
