Rega CD players are Rega's top-loading disc players, and this page holds every Rega CD player The Listening Room carries. Rega keeps a manual top-loading transport in place of a motorized tray, because trays wear, and the current model here is the iSiS Reference, the top of Rega's digital range.
The iSiS Reference sits in a 19 kg CNC-machined aluminum case (19.5 kg for the valve version) and comes in two versions, solid state or valve. Both share the transport, power supply and chassis, and they differ in the DAC and the analog output stage. Its disc analysis system sets up the laser for each disc, so it will often play marked or scratched discs that other players refuse. Separate transformers feed the digital and analog sections, and a USB input lets it play files from a computer through its own DACs, and it comes with a CNC-machined aluminum remote.
