AVM Ovation PA 8.3 Phono Module (MM/MC)
The AVM Ovation PA 8.3 Phono Module (MM/MC) is a plug-in module for the AVM Ovation PA 8.3 modular preamplifier. AVM's price list describes it as a combination phono module for MM and MC cartridges.
The PA 8.3 is AVM's modular analog preamplifier. AVM's 2026 overview gives it room for up to eight input modules and three output modules, and AVM's page lists the minimal configuration as one input card and one output card.
AVM's phono input card sets MM loading at 47 kohm with capacitance adjustable from 47 to 420 pF and gain from 43 to 52 dB. MC impedance is adjustable from 47 ohms to 1 kohm, with gain from 63 to 72 dB. RIAA equalization is accurate to within 0.2 dB, the frequency response runs from below 30 Hz to above 100 kHz, and the card has a third-order 20 Hz subsonic filter.
