A35.8 Power Supply and Current Delivery

The cornerstone of the A35.8 is the largest power supply Primare has ever designed. This dual-output switch-mode power supply with Active Power Factor Correction (APFC) is rated at 1,500 watts and is approximately 5% more efficient than passive linear alternatives. An innovative dual-connection cable system ensures that the four amplifier modules receive uniform current via the shortest possible path, eliminating voltage drops that could compromise channel-to-channel consistency. Soft-clipping circuitry provides graceful protection at the limits of output, preventing hard clipping artifacts even during the most demanding passages. Power consumption sits at 350W during operation and less than 0.5W in standby.

Bridged Operation and System Flexibility

Each pair of the A35.8's eight channels can be bridged to create four channels of substantially higher output.
