Power Amplifiers

A high-end power amplifier takes the line-level signal from a preamplifier and drives your speakers. Separating the power stage from the preamp costs a box and a pair of interconnects, and it lets you pick the amplifier for the speakers you own. Some are stereo, one chassis for both channels; others are monoblocks, one chassis per channel. This collection gathers solid-state, tube, and hybrid audiophile power amps, from compact stereo amplifiers to reference monoblocks, with Audia Flight, Cambridge Audio, Chord Electronics, Cyrus, Grimm Audio, Kora, Matrix Audio, Primare, Rega, Rogue Audio, THÖRESS, and Unison Research.

Current highlights include the Rogue Audio M-250 Ultra monoblocks, the Kora CSA 270 Class A stereo amplifier, the THÖRESS SE 300B mono amplifiers, and the Chord Electronics Ultima. For one chassis per channel, see our monoblock amplifiers; for valve output stages, tube power amplifiers and tube hybrid amplifiers. Complete the system with our speakers and interconnect cables.
