Compact Power, Hidden Depth

The T/5x's secret is its down-firing design. By mounting its 8-inch long-throw driver facing the floor, it uses the room's largest surface to spread bass energy uniformly throughout the space, making it perform like a much larger subwoofer. This design also eliminates the need for a grille, resulting in a pure, elegant, and modern cube that can be discreetly placed in any room. The cabinet, while compact, has been internally optimized with greater volume and new bracing to deliver a more fluid and powerful performance than its predecessor.

Agile and Articulate Driver

The T/5x borrows its 8-inch FibreAlloy™ driver from its larger sibling, the T/7x. This lightweight composite of aluminum and paper is incredibly stiff and fast, allowing it to retrieve fine details and musical cues that are often lost in "boomy" subwoofers. Upgraded suspension allows for greater excursion (throw), meaning the T/5x can play louder and dig deeper than its compact size would ever suggest, delivering bass with both finesse and genuine power.

While many subwoofers have moved to cheaper digital amplifiers, the T/5x stays true to REL's audiophile roots with a high-current 125-watt Class A/B amplifier. The T/5x is designed to be the perfect partner for both two-channel music and home theater. It features REL’s legendary High Level Neutrik Speakon input, which connects to your main amplifier's speaker terminals. This ensures the T/5x receives the exact same sonic signature as your main speakers, allowing it to blend perfectly and add depth and scale to the entire soundstage. For theater use, a separate .1/LFE input can be used simultaneously, allowing you to have one setting dialed in for music and another for bombastic movie effects, with the subwoofer switching automatically between them.
