The Rega Brio MK7 represents the absolute pinnacle of compact amplifier design, evolving the brand’s best-selling model into its most advanced and feature-rich iteration to date. Housed in a custom-designed, half-width aluminum case, this handmade integrated amplifier delivers a masterclass in musicality, refinement, and dynamic punch. The MK7 introduces a fully re-laid circuit board and an integrated Rega DAC, adding crucial digital connectivity without compromising the analog purity Rega is famous for. Whether driving demanding loudspeakers or powering high-end headphones, the Brio MK7 offers an immersive, rhythmic, and incredibly detailed listening experience that punches far above its weight class.
Key Features:
- Integrated Rega DAC: Features a new onboard DAC with two digital inputs (Optical and Coaxial), offering greater flexibility for connecting digital sources like streamers and TVs.
- High-Performance Circuitry: A completely re-laid PCB with higher specification MUSES operational amplifiers reduces distortion and optimizes audio performance.
- Powerful Output: Delivers a robust 50 W per channel into 8 Ω and 72 W per channel into 4 Ω, easily driving a wide range of loudspeakers.
- Dedicated Headphone Stage: Includes a high-quality, integrated headphone circuit designed to avoid interference with the main audio path for private listening.
- Moving Magnet Phono Stage: Features Rega's MM phono stage with improved isolation, perfect for getting the best from your vinyl collection.
- Custom Aluminum Case: The sleek, half-width chassis creates a rigid, heat-dissipating shell that looks as good as it sounds.
Optimized for Purity
The Brio MK7 is meticulously engineered to preserve signal integrity. The upgraded circuit layout features a second raw power supply to provide further isolation between the output stage and the driver stage/line and phono amplifiers. This separation ensures that high and low-level signals do not interfere with one another, resulting in a cleaner, more spacious soundstage with reduced noise and distortion.
Digital Flexibility
For the first time in the Brio lineage, the MK7 includes digital connectivity. A high-quality internal DAC allows you to connect digital sources directly via S/PDIF Coaxial or Optical Toslink inputs. Supporting sampling rates up to 192kHz, this addition transforms the Brio into a versatile hub for modern living, allowing you to enjoy Rega's signature sound from TV audio, CD transports, and network streamers with ease.
Analog Soul
Despite its new digital capabilities, the Brio MK7 remains an analog champion. It features a dedicated Moving Magnet (MM) phono stage that benefits from the improved power supply isolation and high-spec op-amps. This ensures your vinyl playback is rich, dynamic, and free from background noise. The amplifier also includes three line-level inputs for other analog sources, maintaining the rhythmic drive and timing that has made the Brio legendary.
Headphone Fidelity
The Brio MK7 treats headphone users to a premium experience. The integrated headphone socket is driven by a specially designed amplifier circuit that is completely isolated from the main signal path when not in use. This ensures no sonic degradation occurs during speaker playback, while providing powerful, detailed drive for standard hi-fi headphones when you want to listen privately.

Rega Brio MK7 or io?
Rega Brio MK7 or io?
The io uses the same power amplifier and phono stage as the Brio, run at 30 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with two line inputs, a moving magnet phono input and a headphone output. The Brio MK7 makes 50 watts into 8 ohms and 72 into 4, adds a third line input, and adds coaxial and optical DAC inputs up to 24-bit/192kHz.
Can I add a subwoofer to the Brio MK7?
Can I add a subwoofer to the Brio MK7?
Not from a line-level output: Rega's rear panel lists no pre-out or subwoofer output. A subwoofer that connects at speaker level works instead. REL's T/x range, such as the T/7x, takes a high-level Speakon connection from the amplifier's speaker terminals, which REL says places no additional load on the amplifier.
Can I turn the Brio MK7 on and off with the remote?
Can I turn the Brio MK7 on and off with the remote?
Yes. The supplied mini system remote switches it on and off. It also drops into standby by itself after about an hour with no signal on the selected input. To turn auto standby off (or back on), hold the input button for 10 seconds while switching the Brio on; the input light flashes three times to confirm.
Will the Brio MK7 drive 4-ohm speakers?
Will the Brio MK7 drive 4-ohm speakers?
It can, with a caveat. Rega rates it at 72 watts per channel into 4 ohms and says it drives all normal hi-fi speakers, but recommends a nominal impedance of 6 to 8 ohms, because 4-ohm speakers may make its thermal protection engage. If that happens, the speaker output mutes first and the amplifier switches off if the temperature keeps rising. Rega builds a 120V version.
Can I connect a streamer and headphones to the Brio MK7?
Can I connect a streamer and headphones to the Brio MK7?
A streamer connects to the coaxial (D1) or optical (D2) input, which accept up to 24-bit/192kHz; the input light flashes if the digital signal is not locked. The headphone socket is a 3.5mm jack that drives standard hi-fi headphones and turns the speakers off when a plug is inserted.
