At this level, every detail matters: your room, your system, what you’re driving it with, what you’re listening to. I handle these orders personally because an investment like this deserves more than an Add to Cart button. We’ll work through system synergy, I’ll make sure the setup is right, and we’ll coordinate delivery so it arrives exactly how it should. A few of our brands require this direct approach, but at this price point, it’s how I’d do it anyway. Use the button above, or call/text me directly at 410-239-2020.

The Kora TB 140 Integrated Amplifier embodies the essence of Kora’s acclaimed SquareTube® technology, blending the warmth of tubes with the drive and precision of transistors. Featuring 4 triodes per channel, the SquareTube® stage handles all amplification and signal control, delivering unmatched clarity, phase accuracy, and musical refinement. By using hyper-linear complementary transistors solely for current delivery, the TB 140 achieves a seamless synergy where tubes shape the sound and transistors unleash effortless energy. The result is a dynamic, natural, and highly stable amplifier that reveals hidden detail and musical nuance, even when driving complex speaker loads.
Square Tube Technology
The TB140 introduces listeners to Kora’s Square Tube Technology in its most approachable form, proving that high-end engineering can be both accessible and refined. All of the amplification and signal control happens in the tube stage; the transistors simply supply the current your speakers need without adding their own character, for grip and stability that keeps the music locked in place. This balance of warmth and precision makes the TB140 a standout entry point into Kora’s philosophy, offering a taste of their flagship design approach in a more compact and versatile package. Is the Kora TB 140 a tube amplifier or a hybrid?
Is the Kora TB 140 a tube amplifier or a hybrid?
Kora calls it a tube amplifier assisted by transistors. All the amplification is done by its Square Tube circuit, four triodes per channel. Four complementary ON Semi power transistors then supply the current the speakers need without taking part in amplifying the signal, which lets Kora do without an output transformer. Kora stresses that this is not the usual hybrid of a tube preamp feeding a solid-state power amp.
Does the TB 140 have a phono input?
Does the TB 140 have a phono input?
Yes, for moving magnet cartridges: input 5 is an MM phono stage with 47k ohm loading and 4mV sensitivity, alongside four line inputs and a pre-out. Kora lists no moving coil option for the TB 140; its MM/MC phono module is listed for the PR 140 preamplifier. For a moving coil cartridge, Get in touch with Mike about a separate phono stage.
Kora TB 140 or TB 200: what does the TB 200 add?
Kora TB 140 or TB 200: what does the TB 200 add?
More power and current. The TB 200 makes 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 180 into 4, against the TB 140's 70 and 100, with twelve output transistors instead of four, two 300VA transformers instead of one, and more filtering. It weighs 19kg to the TB 140's 9.5kg. The TB 200 has no phono input, where the TB 140 has an MM stage, and its input 4 can also be set as a pre-out for a subwoofer.
Will changing tubes change the TB 140's sound?
Will changing tubes change the TB 140's sound?
Kora says no. Its Square Tube circuit keeps the tubes correctly biased whatever their brand or age, so changing brands does not change the sound. Kora also runs the output tubes below their nominal current by design, which it says gives them an exceptional service life.
Can the TB 140 be used in a home theater, and is it set up for US power?
Can the TB 140 be used in a home theater, and is it set up for US power?
Input 4 can be set in the menu as a bypass input, which turns the TB 140 into a power amplifier driven by a source with its own volume control, such as a surround processor; the settings menu is reached only from the front knob, not the remote. Kora sets the mains voltage at the factory and marks it on the back: 230V standard, with 117V available on request.
