Aurender A15 Music Server, Streamer & DAC
The Aurender A15 is a reference-level all-in-one music server and DAC designed for serious listeners who value simplicity without sacrificing sound quality. The A15 features a dual-mono AKM4490 DAC configuration designed for maximum channel separation and dynamic headroom. As a full MQA decoder, it extracts every nuance from high-resolution MQA files, while also supporting PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD up to DSD512. Smooth, refined, and free of digital artifacts, the A15’s DAC performance is at home in the finest systems.
Two rear-mounted bays allow for user-installable 2.5" drives up to 8TB each. Whether you're building a massive local library or simply want backup alongside streaming, the A15 adapts to your needs. No preinstalled drives means you’re only paying for the storage you use.
Powering the A15 is a fully linear supply with four dedicated toroidal transformers: one for the CPU, one for the FPGA, and two for the left and right DAC channels. This meticulous power architecture ensures silent backgrounds and stable operation, while supercapacitor-based UPS protects against sudden outages.
Jitter is reduced to near-zero thanks to an onboard FPGA-based clocking system. Sub-100 femtosecond timing accuracy ensures that every bit of data arrives exactly when it should, preserving the natural flow and coherence of the music.
With balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs, the A15 can connect to any integrated amp, preamp, or power amp. Built-in volume control lets it run as a standalone preamp. For added flexibility, it includes coaxial and optical inputs for external digital sources, plus a dedicated USB Audio output for external DACs.
The front-panel IPS color display shows album artwork, artist names, and track titles in vivid clarity. All operations are controlled through Aurender’s Conductor app, an intuitive, stable, and responsive interface developed entirely in-house for seamless hardware and software integration.

The Aurender A15 connects to your network over wired Ethernet. If there is no network port near your rack, the NETGEAR EX6120 WiFi Range Extender plugs into a nearby outlet, joins the WiFi network you already have, and gives the Aurender A15 a wired port to connect to.

Everything I played was rendered beautifully. I was able to connect with each piece of music without worrying about any detractors. The A15 doesn’t force you to focus on pinpointing the musician(s) in the soundstage nor does it (for me) alert you to any deficiency in the reproduction (dryness, edginess, mud etc.).
