The crossover components are Reference-grade throughout: MKP polypropylene capacitors at 1% tolerance, air-core inductors at 0.7% tolerance for midrange and tweeter, special powder-core inductors for the bass section, and inductance-free metal film resistors at 1% tolerance. Vienna chose 6 dB and 12 dB Bessel filter slopes for their impulse response characteristics, prioritizing time-domain accuracy over the steeper Butterworth or Linkwitz-Riley alternatives that are more common in this price range.

Front Ports and Cabinet Construction

The Maestro Grand Reference uses a dual front-ported bass reflex enclosure tuned to a QB3 (Quasi-Butterworth 3rd order) alignment. Front ports are a practical advantage for a speaker that typically sits on a shelf or credenza below a display. There is no bass bloom from rear-wall proximity, no need to pull the cabinet forward for breathing room. The QB3 tuning keeps bass tight and defined, favoring transient speed over maximum low-end volume.

The cabinet is built to furniture-grade standards in Austria, finished in full piano lacquer (Piano Black or Piano White). Internal bracing and accelerometer-guided resonance control keep the enclosure inert at high output levels. At 24 inches wide, the Maestro Grand Reference accommodates its horizontal driver array without the compromises that narrower center channels make by stacking drivers vertically or angling them off-axis.
