Description
The Strumento N°8 Mono Power Amplifier represents the pinnacle of Audia Flight’s vision: absolute control, limitless headroom, and a level of refinement that places it firmly among the world’s true reference amplifiers. Building on the legacy of the celebrated Strumento N°4 stereo amplifier, the No. 8 takes everything learned during that project and applies it with mono-block focus: one channel per chassis, no compromises.
Every decision in the Strumento N°8 reflects Audia Flight’s obsession with musicality, speed, and mechanical silence. From the fully balanced, Class A input stage to the 3000VA encapsulated output transformer, the N°8 doesn’t just drive speakers. It liberates them. Paired in mono configuration, these amplifiers offer the kind of effortless dynamics and tonal precision that can only come from separating channels entirely, each with its own dedicated power foundation.
Assembled and finished by hand in Italy, the N°8 is a visual and sonic statement. Its chassis begins life as a bespoke aluminum casting and is finished through a combination of CNC machining, mirror polishing, and anodization. Inside, you’ll find craftsmanship that borders on artistry, from the pure copper output bars to the epoxy-encased gain stage, thermally stabilized and shielded from interference. This is the result of engineering backed by human ears refined with the same care a luthier gives a concert instrument.
For those chasing perfection, this is the amplifier that removes every bottleneck between your source and your soul.
Signature Edition
For listeners seeking the most advanced expression of the Strumento platform, the Strumento N°8 Signature edition represents a meticulous evolution. Audia Flight engineers asked a bold question: how do you improve a design already considered perfect by many? Their answer: refine everything.
The Signature version features upgraded internal components, tighter tolerances, and parts selection based on hundreds of hours of listening tests. Changes include upgraded capacitors, precision-matched resistors, and refinements to the power supply architecture, all optimized by ear to extract even greater nuance and control from the already world-class circuit.
Externally, the Signature edition is marked by an engraved gold plaque and premium finish detailing. It delivers higher output power than the standard model, while retaining the same graceful dynamics and speed that define the Strumento sound. Offered as a variant, the Signature edition shares the same handcrafted chassis and layout but pushes every element further. If the original Strumento N°8 is a masterwork, the Signature is its encore: more intense, more expressive, and even more musically transparent.

Circuitry and Mechanical Excellence
Within the graceful silhouette of the Strumento N°8 lies an incredibly sophisticated power delivery system. At the core is a completely discrete Class A gain stage enclosed within a shielded aluminum box, then encapsulated in epoxy resin. This creates complete thermal stabilization while also blocking electrical interference, preserving the purity of the signal from the moment it enters the amplifier.
The output section is powered by a 3000VA custom-wound toroidal transformer. Rather than mounting it directly to the chassis, it’s isolated in its own compartment, filled with epoxy resin, and shielded with twin ferromagnetic barriers. This separation is more than aesthetic, it’s mechanical and sonic insurance. Vibrations, magnetic fields, and mechanical noise are blocked before they can reach the sensitive circuitry.

The power supply is an exercise in excess, but done with precision. Each mono chassis features two high-current supplies and four fully stabilized stages: two for the input, two for the feedback loop. Capacitor storage is massive, featuring 28 hand-selected 6,800μF / 63V low-impedance capacitors, for a total main storage exceeding 190,000μF. Even the filtering stage is custom built using ultra-fast rectifiers. Every element in this chain is selected for one goal: complete authority over current, with zero compromise in speed, transparency, or tonal accuracy.
Audia Flight also made a critical philosophical choice: removing fuses from the output path. In their place, a microprocessor-controlled current sensor monitors and protects the amplifier without introducing resistance or limiting dynamic energy. It’s the kind of decision only possible in a no-holds-barred design, and it shows.
A Case for Beauty
The enclosure itself isn’t just beautiful, it’s purposeful. Built from ultra-high-grade aluminum, each chassis begins life as a cast, then undergoes extensive CNC machining, followed by hours of hand polishing and finishing. The surface is shot-peened for textural depth and anodized for durability. Final silk-screening is applied by hand.
This level of finish isn’t simply about aesthetics. Mechanical rigidity, resonance control, and shielding are all improved by this process. The result is a structure that disappears from your listening experience, leaving only sound.
Note: Choosing Black is a made to order product that has longer wait times.
The Listening Room Difference
The Listening Room is a third-generation, family-owned hi-fi store built on expertise, honesty, and long-term relationships. We’re a real brick-and-mortar shop located in Chestertown, Maryland. Not a warehouse. Not a dropshipper. When you call, you’re speaking with someone who knows the gear inside and out.
Owner Mike Hoatson is involved in every part of the process. When a pair of Strumento No.8 mono amplifiers is sold, he doesn’t leave delivery to chance. Mike handles it personally. That includes white-glove delivery, full setup, and in-room testing to make sure the system is performing at its best.
We don’t just ship audio equipment. We show up, we install it, and we make sure it’s right.
