Force-Cancelling Passive Radiators: Place Them Anywhere

The L/R X uses dual 6-inch passive radiators instead of a rear-firing port, and this design choice has real consequences for how you live with these speakers. Ported speakers have a well-known problem: place them close to a wall and the bass becomes boomy and indistinct. The L/R X doesn't have that problem. Passive radiators deliver extended bass (down to 35Hz) regardless of proximity to walls or corners. The "force-cancelling" part matters just as much. The passive radiators are tuned to cancel out the mechanical vibrations from the active drivers, so the cabinet itself stays inert.
