The MAX 2 is Unison Research's flagship loudspeaker, engineered specifically to partner with their renowned tube amplifiers. Built around a massive 15-inch woofer with a vegetable and carbon fiber composite diaphragm and neodymium magnet, the MAX 2 delivers room-filling bass down to 30Hz while maintaining the speed and articulation that tube amplifiers demand. With 96dB sensitivity and an 8-ohm nominal impedance, even modest single-ended triode amplifiers can drive these speakers to concert levels.

BUILT FOR TUBES

Unison Research designed the MAX series from the ground up for their valve amplifiers. The high sensitivity and benign 8-ohm impedance (7.4 ohm minimum) mean your Simply Italy or Triode 25 will have complete control over these drivers. The smoothed impedance curve reduces the effect of cables and amplifier damping factor, whether tube or solid state.

ITALIAN CRAFTSMANSHIP

Each MAX 2 cabinet is finished in real wood veneer (Cherry, Walnut, or Mahogany), hand-selected for grain consistency. The 30mm front panel is covered in synthetic leather with flush-mounted drivers and rounded edges to eliminate diffraction artifacts. Front-firing reflex ports allow flexible room placement, and the elliptical horn provides consistent 60 x 50 degree dispersion for a wide listening area.
