Precision Engineering in a Compact Format

The AS 2.3 was developed to eliminate the need for stacked components and tangled cables without compromising on fidelity. Inspired by AVM’s top-tier CS 8.3, the amplifier section features a newly developed topology optimized for the AS 2.3’s compact casework. This fully discrete output stage delivers authoritative power, speed, and control across a wide range of speakers. Despite its modest footprint, this amplifier drives inefficient or complex loudspeakers with ease.

The X-Stream Engine

Developed entirely in-house, AVM’s software-based X-Stream platform ensures future-proof streaming. The AS 2.3 supports every major high-resolution format including DSD256 and PCM up to 384kHz/32-bit. With support for AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Roon, and web radio, your music library and streaming sources are fully integrated and easily accessible. Firmware updates are delivered online, continuously expanding functionality.

ESS9038Q2M DAC and Digital Architecture

The digital section of the AS 2.3 is a complete redesign anchored by the highly regarded ESS9038Q2M DAC chip. Capable of handling ultra-high-resolution PCM and DSD, it supports native playback with user-selectable upsampling and MQA decoding. Every digital signal is converted with maximum fidelity and low distortion, revealing subtle textures and dynamics across any source.

Reference-Class Phono Stage

The internal phono input is engineered with serious vinyl enthusiasts in mind. Switchable between MM and MC, and paired with impedance-matching adapters, this high-precision stage is custom-voiced for use with AVM’s ROTATION turntables. It brings exceptional clarity and depth to analog playback.

Fully Connected

With HDMI ARC, USB-A, optical, coaxial, and multiple analog ins and outs, the AS 2.3 integrates easily into any modern system. Home theater passthrough is available via switchable analog inputs, while digital outputs can be volume controlled, supporting external DACs or recording systems. A front-panel headphone jack rounds out the comprehensive I/O.

Control and Customization

The newly designed RC X App for iOS and Android gives users complete command over inputs, tone controls, loudness, and network features. A dimmable graphic display with touch and proximity sensors provides intuitive physical control. Input gain, names, and preferences can all be adjusted within an elegant interface.

Built in Malsch, Germany

Like all AVM products, the AS 2.3 is built by hand in AVM’s factory in Malsch using locally sourced components. The screwless housing is milled from precision aluminum and available in silver, black, or the stunning chrome-plated Cellini version.
