The Aurender N20 is a reference-grade digital transport designed to extract the absolute best performance from any high-end DAC. Positioned between the N30SA and W20SE, the N20 brings many of Aurender’s flagship features into a single chassis, making it the ideal choice for audiophiles who demand uncompromising digital playback. With ultra-low jitter OCXO clocking, an advanced hybrid linear power supply, user-installable SSD storage, and cutting-edge upsampling capabilities, the N20 is the ultimate solution for both streaming and locally stored high-resolution music.
Key Features
- Ultra High-Performance Digital Transport: Equipped with USB, AES/EBU, Coaxial, BNC, Optical outputs, and a dedicated Word Clock input for precision timing.
- OCXO Clock-Controlled Outputs: High-stability Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator (OCXO) clocks ensure jitter-free SPDIF and AES/EBU data streams.
- Hybrid Linear Power Supply with UPS: Delivers clean, stable power to digital audio components while isolating noise from non-audio circuits.
- User-Installable Storage: Two bays allow installation of up to 16TB of SSD storage or leave empty for a pure streaming experience.
- 8.8” IPS Color Display: Beautiful high-resolution front panel screen displays album art, track titles, and system info in stunning clarity.
- PCM Upsampling & DSD Support: Upsample content up to 192kHz for better DAC performance, with native DSD512 via USB.
- Seamless Streaming Integration: Supports TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Spotify, Roon Ready, and more for effortless high-resolution playback.
- Expandable Clocking System: Includes a Word Clock input for connectivity with an external Master Clock like the Aurender MC20.
A Flagship-Grade Digital Transport
The Aurender N20 is a world-class digital music server and streamer designed for high-end audio systems demanding reference-level performance. Positioned between the N30SA and W20SE, the N20 offers many of the same high-performance features but in a single-chassis solution. Its hybrid linear power supply, OCXO clocking, and low-jitter SPDIF and AES/EBU outputs make it an ideal digital source for any high-resolution DAC.
OCXO Clocking & Low-Jitter Digital Outputs
At the core of the N20 is Aurender’s OCXO-controlled clock system, ensuring exceptionally low jitter and noise levels when using AES/EBU, Coaxial, Optical, and BNC SPDIF outputs. Unlike USB, where the DAC’s clock matters most, SPDIF and AES/EBU depend on the transport clock, making the N20 a superior choice for non-USB DAC configurations.
Hybrid Linear Power Supply & Super Capacitor UP
Power supply design is critical to digital audio performance, and the N20 employs a sophisticated hybrid linear power system with separate power rails for audio-critical components. A built-in super capacitor-based UPS ensures that unexpected power outages won’t cause system crashes or data corruption.
High-Resolution Streaming & Storage Flexibility
Whether you prefer high-resolution streaming or locally stored files, the N20 is built for both. It features native support for TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, and internet radio, and is fully Roon Ready. For those with large music collections, the N20 includes two user-installable drive bays, supporting up to 16TB of SSD storage.
Flagship Performance Without the Flagship Price
While the N30SA takes performance to the extreme by physically separating power and audio circuitry, the N20 delivers nearly identical performance in a single chassis, making it a serious contender for any reference-level system.
