magnepan-x-program-custom-projects
Magnepan X Program Custom Projects

Magnepan X Program Custom Projects are how you commission a Magnepan that is not in the catalog. Magnepan's X program builds custom speakers, and Mike Hoatson works with Magnepan directly to bring a customer's design to the build. A custom build is priced up from the X Series model it starts from, and the final number depends on the build, so this listing starts a conversation rather than a checkout.

Key Features of Magnepan X Program Custom Projects

Built by Magnepan's X program: the same program behind the Magnepan X Series, open to custom work.

External crossover: one of the easier custom requests.

Bi-ampable speaker: also on the list of straightforward changes.

Custom trim: trim made to your spec instead of picked from the standard options.

Mike as your point of contact: he works with Magnepan directly on your behalf.

Priced up from X Series: custom work carries the full quality control and R&D load, and the price reflects it.

What can the Magnepan X program build?

The easy requests are an external crossover, a bi-ampable speaker and totally custom trim. All of that is possible if you are willing to spend the money. Past those, the X program is open to building what you have in mind, the way a guitar maker's custom shop builds what is not on the rack. If you have a dream speaker that Magnepan does not make, this is the way to get it.

Why does a custom Magnepan cost more than an X model?

A custom project goes through the same quality control and R&D as a speaker Magnepan designs hoping to sell thousands of. Apply all that effort to one pair or ten pairs of speakers and the cost per unit goes up. Mike is upfront about it: this is not cheap, and a custom build costs more than the X Series model it starts from.

How do you start a Magnepan X Program Custom Project?

Use the button above, or call or text Mike at 410-239-2020. Tell him what you want the speaker to do and what you want changed. He works through the idea with Magnepan directly. Every project is custom built to order in White Bear Lake, MN, and lead time is approximately 5-8 weeks from order.

.tlr-cmp{margin:10px 0 16px;}
.tlr-cmp
